Grand Knight’s Comments:

Past Events

The PGK Dinner was held on Wednesday October 15th. I can honestly say that a great time was had by everyone in attendance. If you haven’t come to this event before, you should really consider doing so next year.

On Thursday, October 16th, we held Popcorn and a Movie night showing a film about Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney. This was a very enjoyable social affair.

Friday, October 24th. Our Brother Knights assisted the PTA with their Oktoberfest event. Thanks to all who answered the call from the PTA for assistance.

The Options for Women Neil Diamond Dinner Show was held on October 25th. This was a great fundraiser for Options. The weekend of October 4th and 5th the Knights sold over 460- 50/50 chances outside church also for Options. Thanks to everyone who participated in these events.

Upcoming Events

Our Council will be conducting its Fall Recruiting Drive during the weekends of November 8th&9th and 15th and 16th. Please see the monthly update from our Membership Director, Joe Maguire, for more details. The planned activities promise to be exciting for all involved. The Council will be conducting a blood drive on Sunday, November 2th in the OLGC School Cafeteria. Please consider giving blood or helping out at the drive. The blood drive runs from 8am to 2pm. Please contact Greg Adams if you would like to donate or help out at [email protected]. We will again be selling 18" x 24" lawn signs with the message Keep Christ in Christmas, starting the weekend of November 22nd and 23th. See Joe Graham at the business meeting, or call him at 856-778-0043, or email to [email protected]. The price is $5.00. Any profits realized from this event will be donated to Options for Women. This is a K of C effort to get this most important Christmas message out. Over 1500 signs have been purchased and distributed to organizations all over Burlington County. Look for these green and white signs to pop up soon. Does your family have a sign ???

Our annual Lunch with Santa will be held on December 6th in the OLGC School Cafeteria, 1:00pm. Brother Greg Klint is once again heading up this important event. Please contact him to volunteer at [email protected] . Attached is a press release with more info about the event.

Other Items- Christmas Decorations

Volunteers are needed for Saturday December 6, 2014, 8:30AM to decorate the parish campus for Christmas. We will decorate the exterior of the parish buildings, hang garland around the lamp posts and decorate the porches. All Knights are invited to participate in this project. The early morning start is necessary so that upon completion, members can then help prepare for the “Lunch with Santa” which takes place after the Township Christmas parade at noon. Young adults are also welcome to assist. This is a good opportunity to earn service hours. We should finish the project in about 90 minutes. Please reserve the date now! Plan to share some of you time with Brother Knights as we prepare Our Lady’s Parish for the Christmas celebration

Please respond to Thom Scattaregia [email protected] and let him know your availability.

Membership Director – Joe Maguire

As previously mentioned the Council will be holding a recruiting drive the weekends of November 8th and 9th and 15and -16th. The Open House will be on November 20st in the OLGC Cafeteria. The plans for each weekend are as follows: - November 8 and 9th we will hand out a brochure about the K of C and mention the Open House to potential recruits. This will serve as a soft sell on the K of C.

- November 15 and -16th we will hand out the brochures and place K of C index cards in each pew where anyone interested can fill out the card. The cards will be collected as the potential member leaves Church. We will also have a speaker at each Mass give a quick talk about the K of C. .

- November 20th is the Open House in the OLGC cafeteria. We will discuss the K of C with recruits and be featuring a beer tasting event to serve as an “icebreaker” with potential new members. This promises to be a great way to create a relaxed atmosphere where both current Knights and recruits can feel comfortable getting to know a little more about one another and the K of C.

Recruiting is the life blood of our organization. We will need everyone’s help with the upcoming events. Please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] if you would like to volunteer with any aspect of the recruiting events or if you have any questions.

Pro-Life Director – Joe Graham

Brothers Tom Kolon, Dick Bakely, Joe Cunningham and I participated in the parish Right to Life Committee cupcakes for Life effort at the Moorestown Fall Festival. Free cupcakes were offered to anyone who stopped by our tent. When asked about the cupcakes, the response was that, "These cupcakes represent the birthday cakes that aborted babies will never have." It presented an opportunity for discussion and the hope that some will think about this and maybe hearts and minds will be changed. This is a nation-wide effort.Overall, our experience was very positive.

Church Director – Tom Bell
