Job Title: Control Room Operator: Line Manager: Facilities Manager

Job Purpose:

To assist in the security and day-to-day control of the building as part of the wider Control Room and Operations Team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To supervise and monitor the CCTV system to ensure provision of essential security requirements, both during normal working schedule and on events nights.

2. To monitor the facility’s fire panel and have the ability to follow the essential fire procedures when required.

3. To take responsibility of the facility control, including the monitoring of control logs.

4. To play a significant role, in ensuring clear and effective communication amongst departments throughout the facility.

5. To provide adequate monitoring of all deliveries and ensure they are forwarded to the appropriate personnel. 6. To undertake the monitoring and control of a range of systems, integral to the smooth running of the facility, while on shift. These systems include the refrigeration system, computerised lighting, intruder alarm etc.

7. To undertake additional control room processes including lost property, daily logging of incidents and updating other members of the Control Room Team via the intranet hand-over diary and the whiteboard.

8. To provide essential awareness of both maintenance and health and safety issues to all users of the facility.

9. To print and distribute event check sheets to relevant staff.

10. To carry out a nightly / morning facility check to ensure building security and high levels of customer service.

11. To carry out other duties required by your Line Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

12. To undertake other tasks or duties as may be allocated from time to time in keeping with the responsibility of the post.

13. To maintain a safe and clean environment in the service corridor and loading bay.

14. To ensure that parking in the loading bay is coordinated and to move vehicles where necessary.

15. Daily checks carried out across various systems and procedures.

16. To hand out equipment and ensure that these are signed out correctly.

Each Control Room Operator will also have responsibility of designated project areas.

All employees are expected to maintain high standards of customer care, to up hold the health and safety policy of the National Ice Centre, and to participate in training activities necessary to their post.
