Super Saturday
Super Saturday 2010 is scheduled for February 13, 2010; 32 host sites have been secured, including the following: 1. Arlington – Washington Lee High School 2. Big Stone Gap – Mountain Empire Community College 3. Bridgewater – Bridgewater College 4. Charlottesville – Piedmont Virginia Community College 5. Chesterfield – Meadowbrook High School 6. Danville – Institute for Advanced Learning & Research 7. Emory – Emory & Henry College 8. Farmville – Prince Edward High School 9. Franklin – Paul D. Camp Community College – Franklin campus 10. Front Royal – Skyline High School 11. Grundy – Grundy High School 12. Hampton – Peninsula Higher Education Center 13. Henrico – Henrico High School 14. Hopewell – Hopewell High School 15. Using funds awarded from the College Access Challenge Grant Program (CACGP), the following activities were conducted:
1. Placed an ad in the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s 2009 College & School Guide, published 10/18/09 and in 7 other Media General daily newspapers later in October 2. Purchased 15,000 addresses using zip codes within the vicinity of each Super Saturday site and mailed postcards to parents announcing Super Saturday 3. Purchased 31,000 dollar-sign stress relievers; mailed to high schools in the vicinity of each Super Saturday site. 4. Purchased 5,000 VASFAA financial aid packets, delivered directly to Super Saturday sites
Call 12 Financial Aid Hot Line
VASFAA’s Call-12 financial aid hot line day was scheduled for Monday, February 01, 2010, but has been postponed due to the snow. It will occur on Thursday, February 4 instead. VASFAA volunteers are:

Miscellaneous
1. Site coordinators have been asked to take pictures at Super Saturday to be included on the VASFAA website and/or VASFAA Facebook page 2. Three scholarships winners from Super Saturday 2009 submitted invoices for the $100 book scholarship 3. Letters announcing Super Saturday were sent to all Virginia public school system superintendents 4. SCHEV plans to issue a press release state-wide announcing Super Saturday with a link to the VASFAA website as well as SCHEV’s College Access website
