William D. Squires

Bill is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy (Class of 1975) and served on active duty as a naval aviator for 12 years prior to joining the Naval Reserves. He has over 4,000 hours flying the P-3 Orion and has made multiple deployments all over the world. His last active duty station was the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY where he served as the Communications Officer. Bill retired from the Naval Reserves as a Commander after 28 years of service.

In 1987, following active duty in the United States Navy, Bill entered the sports and entertainment facility management business after being offered the opportunity by Mr. George M. Steinbrenner III. He has held top level positions with the following facilities:

Yankee Stadium Giants Stadium (two tours) Cleveland Browns Stadium ESPN Wide World of Sports

Bill was involved in the design and construction of ESPN Wide World of Sports, Cleveland Browns Stadium, and MetLife Stadium.

His responsibilities included budgeting, staffing, training, event execution, maintenance and capital improvements just to mention a few. Bill celebrated 27 years in the sports facility industry in February 2014. Bill is a Past President of the Stadium Managers Association which has members from the National Football League, Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, Major League Soccer, the Canadian Football League, Universities/Colleges and other facilities that host sports and entertainment events.

Bill currently has his own consulting business featuring clients such as the New York Football Giants. Bill is the liaison between the team and the New Meadowlands Stadium Company which operates the $1.6 billion MetLife Stadium. Many of his other clients provide products and services to the sports facility industry.

Bill has been working with the Naval Academy Admissions Office since 1991 as a Blue and Gold Officer. He is currently the Area Coordinator for northern New Jersey where he is responsible for managing 58 fellow Blue and Gold Officers who work with students who are interested in learning about and applying to the Naval Academy. Bill was recently selected to be the Chairman of the Naval Academy Admissions Office Area Coordinator Steering Committee which represents the over 2,300 Blue and Gold Officers from across the country.

Bill is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University and teaches a graduate course in Sports Facility and Event Management. Bill's family includes his wife Jodi, daughter Ashley Fougere who is married to his son-in-law Mike, son, Sean (age 16), and daughter Sydney (age 15). Bill's son Sean has cystic fibrosis and Bill and his wife are among the top fundraisers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the country.
