Further to your request for information received on 30th August 2011 please find enclosed the material that you asked for.

FoI request – Allotment Tenancy Agreement and Related Costs

1. Please could you send us the Tenancy Agreement that the Council currently uses for allotment plots in the Council?

A standard allotment tenancy agreement is attached.

2. Please could you send us the previous Tenancy Agreement for allotment plots in the Council?

Apart from minor changes, eg no carpets or glass and updated health and safety section, this agreement has not had any major changes for a number of years.

3. Was the agreement changed following a public consultation?

No, at the time the Council only had around 15 directly managed allotment plots. The changes were made to new agreements only. Existing agreement holders were asked to adopt these changes were possible.

4. Please could you send us the documentation associated with this consultation that highlights the change in Tenancy Agreement for allotment plots in the Council?

N/A

5. Is the Council planning to chance the current Tenancy Agreement for allotment plots in the Council within the next 12 months?

No changes are planned at this time.

6. Can you please send us the cost of an allotment within your Council for the years: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and what they will be for 2012 and 2013. Per full plot of 250m2 2008 £36.50 2009 £38.00 2010 £40.00 2011 £42.00 2012 To be confirmed, likely to be increased around the current rpi figure.

7. Can you please send us the cost of using water as charged to individual plot holders within your Council for the years: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and what they will be for 2012 and 2013.

Water is included within the rent.

8. Can you please send us the rate of the discount available for renting an allotment plot within your Council for the years: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and what they will be for 2012 and 2013.

No discounts are available.

9. What has the cost of waste removal been to the Council in relation to allotment sites for the years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and what are they likely be for 2012 and 2013?

Waste removal is minimal and therefore not recorded.

Footnote; Bournemouth Council rents four larger sites to self managed Associations or Societies. The self managed groups have full management control, agreed with their respective members. The Council has not received any queries in relation to any agreements or charges from members of these sites.
