Dear Potential Sponsor,

The 10th Bret Neylon Race to Recovery 5K Run & Walk will be held on July 18, 2015. It is a fundraising event organized by concerned citizens from this community and is run through The Bret Neylon Paralysis Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization. This nonprofit foundation benefits families and individuals who have sustained spinal cord injuries in order to help them with rehabilitation and continuing medical costs.

The foundation was founded by Bret and his wife Tracie in 2009. Bret has been a citizen of Brownsburg for many years. He has taught at Brownsburg Middle School and High School for the last 23 years and has coached students in cross-country and track & field.

On June 17, 2006, Bret was involved in a serious accident during the Summer Solstice bicycle race in Ohio. As a result, Bret fractured the C4 vertebra in his neck and is currently paralyzed from the chest down. Since the accident, Bret has resumed his teaching and coaching career at Brownsburg High School.

The proceeds made from this event will go directly to Bret’s foundation, where it will be divided among several different individuals to help pay their uninsured, injury-related expenses. As in past years, it is our goal to receive enough sponsorship to underwrite the costs of this event. Therefore, I would like to request your support, in either monetary or in-kind contribution. Please review the enclosed sponsorship literature to determine the kind of support you are able to offer. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law. For more information, please call 317-286-3355.

We look forward to hearing from you. Please contact a committee member personally or the foundation via phone or email by June 18, 2015, if you are interested in this sponsorship opportunity.

Sincerely,

The Bret Neylon Paralysis Foundation committee [email protected] 317-286-3355
