Northwest Jasper Regional District (NORWEJ) October 27, 2014 Minutes of meeting: Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of Northwest Jasper Regional District met in DeMotte town Hall, 112 Carnation ST SE, DeMotte, IN on October 27, 2014 at 6:00 PM in regular meeting pursuant to call in accordance with the rules of the board.

Andy Andree, who presided, called the meeting to order. Old Business: John made a motion to approve the minutes of the September meeting as presented. Kent supported and motion carried.
Kent presented the financial report for month ended September 30, 2014 with a Construction Account balance of $1,079.05 and Tap Fee Account balance of $155,839.26. Mark made a motion to approve the report as presented. Kent supported and motion carried.
New Business: Daryl presented information for bids for generator for water tower. The only bidder was The Hamstra Group at a total cost of $15,525. John made a motion to accept bid as presented. Mark supported and motion carried.
John made a motion to complete process of drilling new back up well at a cost of $49,070 for drilling well, and approximately $8-10,000 for additional excavation. Kent supported and motion carried.
Bob Barton reported that fire hydrant flushing is completed as of today. Nearly all hydrants were in acceptable working order, and the ones that were not are being repaired.
Jeff made a motion to suspend the account of Barbara Fitzpatrick for one year due to current circumstances. John supported and motion carried.
John made a motion to suspend the account of Mr. Wargin for 90 days. He is in the process of obtaining grant for installation cost. Mark supported and motion carried.
Resident living on daisy street SE in Harvest View was present to ask about timing of water available in their subdivision.
Mike Kooistra of 424 10th Street SW was present to voice concern about poor restoration work done by Grimmer Construction. He paid professional landscaper $2,100 to correct issues, and is seeking reimbursement for bill. Daryl will discuss with Grimmer.
Frank Otterman of 421 10th Street SW was present to voice concern about poor restoration work, and also to voice complaint about the shut off of utilities by contractor when is posted not to do so, due to medical condition of his wife.
Kent made a motion to adjourn. Mark supported and motion carried.
