There was concern about whether Blackboard would be available during this time. Jim Gentry will check with Edit Szanto. There was also a question about whether intersession classes were included under Fall 09 tuition. Jim Gentry will check on that as well.  Dr. Cindy Bond and Dr. Jeff Fox visited the department regarding the chair’s position after Jim Gentry’s retirement. Eligible department members-those in the department over three years-interested in the position should send a letter of intent to Dr. Bond by the end of October. Dr. Fox explained options which might be considered, particularly as a result of the economic recession. A decision will not be made until March after the legislative session has begun to meet.  Department members affirmed bringing the ROTC classes into the Social Science Department.

The Social Science Department will meet again on Tuesday, November 3,2009 in Aspen 134 at 1:00 pm
