Job Description: Young Advisers Project Coordinator Salary £14292 per annum Hours 21 hours per week Reporting to Group Operations and Development Manager Based Sidcup closing date: 1 February 2016 Job summary A project coordinator who has excellent self-advocacy and communication skills is required to work with the Young Advisers Havering. Able to liaise with a wide range of people including young people with a disability, council officers, other organisations and parents and carers, working to develop the Young Advisers Havering project.
The coordinator will:
develop and support Young Advisers Havering projects
recruit and train a group of young disabled people aged 14 to 25 years who will be consultants and a voice for young people with a disability
support the Young Advisers Havering to develop their skills to work with other young people and speak up for young people with a disability
support the Young Advisers Havering to be a voice for young people with a disability
liaise with Havering Council, schools, colleges and other organisations
attend meetings in Havering
be flexible with hours as required and may include some occasional additional project work
work as part of the self advocacy team
have full, clean driving license and use of car to carry out the duties of the post
The project coordinator’s role is to:
