Creative Impulse Entertainment Launches Comic Book Publishing Company

Award-winning independent filmmaker Jan Lucanus teams up with his veteran writer father, Jan C. Childress, to launch a new comic book publishing company, Creative Impulse Publishing. Their first title will be ‘JFH: Justice-For-Hire”, a martial arts action/adventure based on the award-winning short film. They will simultaneously be promoting screenwriter Paul Fusco’s first comic endeavor, the military horror-thriller ‘Soldiers of the Dead”. Other titles slated for 2007 are the mystic epic "Durga: The Geomancer", the mind-bending afterlife saga “Bardo", the ninja/samurai love story “Tengu” and an untitled series by world renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Master John Machado.

Previously, Jan C. Childress wrote “The Good Guys” with Jim Shooter for Defiant Comics in the 1990’s. Currently, besides his two new titles under the Creative Impulse Publishing banner, he has co-written the “Justice-For-Hire” feature screenplay along side his son Jan Lucanus with writers Banyan Williamson-Masuda and Mercer Boffey. The film is currently casting and will begin shooting late summer 2007.

Creative Impulse Publishing will also be taking submissions at the New York Comic Con 2007 for new original content from writers as well as looking at samples from artists ready to work with Creative Impulse Publishing’s aggressive approach to comics and entertainment media. They are also collaborating with Atlantis Studios, who is their production partner on “JFH: Justice-For-Hire” and Paul Fusco’s “Soldiers of the Dead”. Most recently, Atlantis Studios produced the official “The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines” graphic novel adaptation of the sequel to the popular TNT original movie that debuted in December 2006.

“We will be systematically flooding multiple avenues of media with our high-concept products and simultaneously fusing these mediums together. Comics will be film will be music will be comics. We have some crazy ideas that we have put into motion – like nothing ever done before. Quality, uplifting content is our top priority. We’re making stories for the next generation.”
