1. Draw the twelve little girls. Write a name for each one.

2. Draw and label a Christmas tree. Make sure to decorate it.

3. Write about a time that you did not receive a whole lot of presents for Christmas. But you actually gave a lot.

4. The girls went to the doctor so he could help them get better. Write a list of things that he wants them to do and tell them how to take their medicine.

Introductions

1. Bring in a rug. Have children to sit on it. Ask them if they believe in a magic carpet. Ask them where they would go if they had a magic carpet. Tell them that in our story today we will read about Madeline and her magic carpet. Let’s read and see where she goes on that carpet.

2. When the children come in, ask them if they have ever helped take care of someone that was sick. Ask them if they received any rewards after the person was well. Tell them that in our story today we will read how after Madeline does a good deed, she gets something special. Let’s read and find out what she gets.

3. Write down abracadabra on a piece of paper. Ask child if they know this word. Today we are going to read ‘Madeline’s Christmas’.
