Re: Chrysler Apartments – Natick, Mass. EOEEA #14129
Dear Secretary Bowles:
The Cochituate State Park Advisory Committee (CSPAC) advises the Mass. Dept. of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) on matters affecting Lake Cochituate and Cochituate State Park.
CSPAC has been concerned when neighboring development projects forfeit future park values. We applaud and fully support the DCR comment letter to MEPA of December 3rd, regarding EOEEA #14129, the proposed high-rise Chrysler Apartments project by the Middle Pond of Lake Cochituate. In particular, we urge the preservation and enhancement of the shoreline vegetation screening which keeps this park's shoreline views "natural" despite dense nearby development. Preserving that natural view guarantees an even better Cochituate State Park for future generations of park users, and that can only be done by not permitting buildings to rise above the shoreline's vegetative screening.
We thank all who join in support for Cochituate State Park, and look forward to the opportunity to work with individuals and groups toward mutual success.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Bogan Chairman, Cochituate State Park Advisory Committee
