The target company is a $170MM manufacturer of residential and commercial building products that has grown very rapidly over the course of the past 5 - 7 years - primarily through acquisition. It currently has very strong position and reputation with its core product lines possessing no. 1 or no. 2 market share positions. The bulk of the company's sales are of branded products which are well recognized and highly regarded by its customer base.

Scope Responsible for implementing, managing and driving results from the Norma Operational Excellence program. Includes the Norma Production System (NPS), Project Management and Tracking, and all other major cost savings initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Operational Excellence process at site and support the training of other Operational Excellence Leaders and Master Black Belts.

• Maintain and report KPIs at Site and Group level. Responsible for acquiring and inputing performance data into Delta Master and Master Project Tracking (MPT) systems.

• Assist in achieving site Policy Deployment/KPI objectives and participates in monthly PD/KPI reviews at Group level.

• Promote and facilitate the establishment of NPS tools and conduct on-site workshops and kaizens applying them. Develop other on-site associates in the area of NPS tools and methods.

• Promote and facilitate diagnosis of the flow of work and information to identify improvement priorities/operational excellence cost saving projects.

• Promote training and support of other Norma facilities as required. • Improve NPS training and facilitation skills by pursing certification in NPS tools.

• Perform benchmarking studies as required

• Drive “best practices” in all areas of responsibility.

Background and Required Skills:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing and managing Lean programs in a manufacturing environment, including experience in leading Kaizen events.

• Project management experience with production of components, as well as manual and full automatic assembly processes.

• Professional knowledge in Lean principles; specifically: Kanban, Daily/Visual Management, 5S, SMED, Standard Work, VSM

• Experienced user of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, as a minimum

• Fluent in English and Spanish

• B.S. degree in Manufacturing or Production/Industrial Engineering

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification a minimum

• Must be able to live and demonstrate the NDS Core Values and OZ Principles of Accountability

• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills

• Must be able to form, lead and motivate teams for high performance

• Live the “continuous improvement” philosophy

• Willing to travel (10%)
