Bill of Rights Project

You will be selecting a section of an amendment or an amendment included in the Bill of Rights to research and illustrate. On the front of an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, you are to illustrate your amendment using magazines, pictures off the internet, or hand-drawn pictures. The audience must be able to understand what your amendment says by looking at your illustration. On the back of your picture(s), you will give me 10 bulleted facts about your amendment that could include the following:  Why it was passed  When it was passed  How has it been interpreted by the Supreme Court  Examples of times when it has not been upheld – http://www.socialstudieshelp.com/CourtCases.htm http://www.ala.org/ala/oif/firstamendment/firstamendment.htm www.access.gpo.gov/congress/senate/constitution www. bill of rights institute.org/Instructional/Resources/LandMark SupremeCourt Cases/ind ex.htm  Examples of the liberties it gives you  The history behind your amendment  Current events and issues involving your amendment across the country (look in the news)
