<p> Bill of Rights Project</p><p>You will be selecting a section of an amendment or an amendment included in the Bill of Rights to research and illustrate. On the front of an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, you are to illustrate your amendment using magazines, pictures off the internet, or hand-drawn pictures. The audience must be able to understand what your amendment says by looking at your illustration. On the back of your picture(s), you will give me 10 bulleted facts about your amendment that could include the following:  Why it was passed  When it was passed  How has it been interpreted by the Supreme Court  Examples of times when it has not been upheld – http://www.socialstudieshelp.com/CourtCases.htm http://www.ala.org/ala/oif/firstamendment/firstamendment.htm www.access.gpo.gov/congress/senate/constitution www. bill of rights institute.org/Instructional/Resources/LandMark SupremeCourt Cases/ind ex.htm  Examples of the liberties it gives you  The history behind your amendment  Current events and issues involving your amendment across the country (look in the news)</p><p>You will bring your completed Bill of Rights projects to class on Thursday, December 18th. I will only accept late projects up to Monday, December 22nd. Your projects will be deducted 10 points for every day that it is late, including the days when we do not have class! I will be counting these as your second quarter project grade. You need to refer to the check list on the back of this sheet to make sure that you have done all that was required of you. This sheet needs to be handed in with your completed project. Bill of Rights project checklist:</p><p>____ Appealing to the eye: neat, typed, and colored = 15 points</p><p>____ Edited: spellchecked, proofread, makes sense to the reader = 15 points</p><p>____ Illustration fits the amendment = 30 points</p><p>____ 10 Facts: bulleted, relevant to your amendment, must be 10, IN YOUR OWN WORDS = 30 points (DO NOT CUT AND PASTE INFORMATION)</p><p>____ Works Cited page: used credible sources = 10 points</p><p>Total = 100 points</p>
