Philosophers/Deep Thinkers

Philosophers/Deep Thinkers Class Presentation

Choose a book by or about a philosopher of your choice. You may choose one from any time period and related to any discipline. The philosopher does not need to appear in our text. Read the work by or about the philosopher in order to make a presentation about the philosopher and his (or her) theory to the class. In addition to a verbal presentation, you should also include handouts (make sure they are 3- hole punched) for me and the entire class. You should plan to use the overhead projector for some sort of visual presentation. Your presentation should be approximately 5 minutes in length.

Presentations will be made the week of September 16.

There will be no written essay submitted to me for this assignment.

I will have a sign up sheet beginning tomorrow. No two people may sign up for the same philosopher, so have a second choice ready.

The points you will want to include in your presentation are:

A brief biography Main philosophical theory The Philosopher’s rhetorical style

Some potential philosophers include (but are not limited to):

Francis Bacon Roland Barthes Mary Catherin Bateson K.C.
