2017 JLAB Cadet Packing List

The bottom line is to ensure that you pack light! Keep in mind you'll be carrying your own luggage and storing it in a shared living space with other JLAB participants.

Civilian Clothing Comfortable walking shoes Shirts (Be sure to bring your Battalion T-Shirt) Socks Underwear Casual Shorts (no cut-off) Pajamas / Athletic attire for evening Raincoat/poncho/umbrella

Recommend light colored clothing to avoid overheating during site visits

Uniforms Class-B uniform (No tie or neck tab) Short Sleeve Shirt White T-Shirt Blue Pants with Belt Black dress shoes with black socks Beret Insignia & awards (No Medals)

Toiletries Toothbrush /toothpaste Shampoo/conditioner Hand soap/body wash Deodorant Hairbrush/comb Sun screen or block Feminine hygiene items (as needed) Miscellaneous Spare set of contact lenses/glasses (if applicable) Shower shoes Small Notebook Pen or pencil Alarm clock Insect repellent Deck of cards, books, etc.

Carry-on bag Consider placing the following items in your carry-on in the event checked in luggage is lost or delayed.

Cell phone Money Toothbrush and toothpaste Hairbrush Contact lens case & cleaning solution / glasses A change of clothes Medication Small valuables A list of emergency contact information (phone numbers and addresses)

Prohibited clothing: Shirts and/or dresses that do not cover the waist, shoulders and back (Sleeveless shirts must cover the entire width of the shoulders.) Tank tops or halter tops Pants, shorts, slacks, and skirts of inappropriate size and fit or which have holes (even if wearing a garment underneath the area with holes) Skirts, dresses or shorts with hems above the fingertips; knee-length shorts preferred Exposed undergarments - Every student is expected to wear proper undergarments. Clothing containing inappropriate language; advertisement of drugs, tobacco, or sex; suggestive lettering or pictures advocating/glorifying death and/or violence Transparent or mesh clothing without appropriate shirt underneath Apparel that is too revealing or excessively form fitting (i.e. spandex) Jeans/pants with cut off hems Flip-flops or high-heeled shoes
