Preschool Schedule*

Arrival  Teachers greet parents and children. (If 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. necessary the teacher will assist a child with separating from his or her parent.)  Children play with the toys, games, puzzles, etc., draw, or look at books.  Teachers facilitate play within the group and encourage children to try new activities.

Circle Time Children learn their ABC's, numbers, days of the 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. week, the months, and other basic concepts. Children also:  Listen to stories  Sing  Dance or participant in movement exercises

Hand Washing/Morning Snack  Teachers train children to properly wash their 9:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. hands and offer assistance as needed.  Children are given a nutritious snack and beverage.

Toileting Teachers provide individual assistance with potty 9:45 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. training.

Morning Activity Children are involved in a hands-on learning 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. activity with their peers and teacher, work on handwriting, and/or work at the computer.

Outdoor Play Children are involved in outdoor activities to 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. develop their gross motor skills and social development. During inclement weather, the children spend additional time on their morning activity.

Hand Washing/Lunch  Teachers train children to properly wash their 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. hands and offer assistance as needed.  Children eat the lunches they bring; teachers assist in any preparation needed.

Toileting Teachers provide individual assistance with potty 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. training.

Nap Time/Rest Teachers assist children with preparing for their 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. nap. To calm a child and encourage him or her to nap, teachers frequently rub their backs or use other calming techniques. Children who do not take naps, rest during this quiet time.

Toileting Teachers provide individual assistance with potty 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. training as the children awake.

Afternoon Snack Children are given a snack or treat and a 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. beverage.

Afternoon Activity/Outside Children are involved in outdoor play. During 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. inclement weather, the children are given a learning activity.

Departure Teachers assist parents and children with leaving 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. the center.
