Welcome to CAMP EXPLORE

Welcome to CAMP EXPLORE!!! My name is Monique Austin (Mrs. Austin) and I will be your child’s teacher for the next 15 days. I teach First grade throughout the regular school year at Southern View Elementary. My assistant will be Mrs. Terrill, who is a Kindergarten assistant throughout the school year at Lindsay Elementary. We are looking forward to a great program with your kiddo!

A few important notes...

Attendance Since we only have 15 days together, attendance is crucial to your child’s success. Please make sure that your child is on time and at school every day. Our learning time will start as soon as the bell rings. There will be weekly rewards for students who are at school each day!

Transportation If your child has a change in the way he/she will be getting home after school, please send a written note in their daily folder, or contact the office. We want to make sure each child makes it home safely.

Daily Folders Every day a folder will be sent home with your child. Please make sure to check the folder for any important notes, as well as to check your child’s behavior chart. Our newsletter will be sent home each week in the folders to highlight the learning that will take place throughout the week. Our newsletter will also be posted on the District webpage under Summer School.

Classroom Learning Our daily schedule will be very similar to the day-to-day learning throughout the school year. We will incorporate a variety of hands-on activities and learning to review concepts, deepen understanding, and keep students engaged and excited about learning!
