MACOMB COUNTY FARM BUREAU $1000.00 AGRICULTURAL 2016 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM P urpose: To support students with an interest in agricultural related courses. There are many web sites available to see agricultural career choices, such as: http://www.csrees.usda.gov, http://www.nal.usda.gov/Kids/careers.htm, http://www.agday.org/education/careers.php

Amount: $1000.00 each - up to two students per year.

Qualifications: 1. Student does not have to be a member to apply, but must be a Macomb County Farm Bureau member before receiving award. 2. Applicant must provide a brief and concise essay of up to 500 words in one single-spaced page using approximately 12pt. font, describing their educational and career goals. 3. Applicant must provide an official transcript from the previous two years of high school and/or college. 4. Applicant must provide an outline of proposed academic program with course names. 5. Applicant must provide two letters of recommendation – one from an Ag Professional and one from an Employer or Educator. 6. Student must submit application, essay and letters of recommendation, before April 1, 2016.

Scholarship recipient will be announced in May 2016!

Payment will be made payable to the student and the school they will be attending. Scholarship checks must be cashed within 90 days of issue or check will not be honored or re-issued. You may request your check be issued for any date between 5-1-16 and 8-31-16. (This provides the student a leeway of 7 months to actually use the scholarship funds.)
