Our essential question this week was “What makes a story funny?” Our story this week is titled Little Rabbit’s Tale. Our phonics focus this week is the sound of short /e/ spelled –ea. We also worked with compound words this week. We have compound words on our spelling list. This week our words to know are: door, more, mother, old, try, use, want, and wash. Please practice these words with your child at home. In writing, we worked on writing personal narratives. We worked with writing a topic sentence and detail sentences to support the topic sentence. In grammar, we learned about prepositions and prepositional phrases.

*Math This week we worked on time to the hour and half hour. We learned about digital and analog clocks. We used our knowledge of fractions to help us divide the face of an analog clock into halves and fourths and from there half hours and quarter hours. We played some very fun time games. Ask your child to tell you more. *Religion

This week we learned about Holy Week and how we remember the last days of Jesus life. We discussed the meaning of Easter and the liturgical signs of Easter and signs of new life.
