GEW Artrepreneurship Event

GEW ARTrepreneurship Event Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors— introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities. In Walla Walla, the Chamber of Commerce, Walla Walla High School, Whitman College, Walla Walla University and Walla Walla Community College are collaborating to present ARTrepreneurship, a celebration of art and local entrepreneurship. The focus of this event is to connect students to local entrepreneurs and use art to tell their stories. Students or community members (individuals or teams) will choose a local entrepreneur, interview them and create an art piece that depicts the entrepreneur’s story. Art pieces will be on display to the public at the GEW reception held at Reid Center on the Whitman College Campus on Tuesday, November 19, and throughout the year at local events. A People’s Choice selection will be voted for by the event attendees and a prize awarded to the winner.

Deadline for art submissions is noon on Friday, November 15, 2013. Contact for submissions:
