All Government Adhesives and Envelopes will be figured ; but no Post Cards, -6wing to their size ; and, except those for the Confederate States, no Locals, owing to their great numbers, which would retard the work greatly if we attempted to illustrate them. They will be duly described, however. In addition to the facsimiles, numerous Wood Engravings of curious Essays, Envelopes, and plain embossed Stamps will em- bellish the letterpress. The Illustrations being produced by Photography, and therefore dependent upon the weather, the Publishers are unable to guarantee the appearance of the Parts with regularity. They are sent out unfolded in specially strong wrappers. ADVANTAGES. In addition to thoroughly reliable letterpress, there will be the fac-siviile Engrav- ings. These will place in the hands of every one the means of detecting forgeries and identifying genuine by simple comparison with the illustrations, which will be tanta- mount to possessing the originals. The Specimen Page of Illustrations given with our Circular No. 9 has been made up to show the capabilities of the process, and contains samples of all kinds of stamps. The central facsimile of the new Spanish Card some- what lessens the appearance of the page, owing to the original being in so pale a shade of blue as to be almost too light to be photographed ; for it is to photography that we owe the representation ; but it was purposely chosen to show that even this difficulty could be overcome. A plain and strictly accurate list of postage stamps, brought down to the month of publication, copious notes relieving the monotony of the Catalogue, and clear, reliable lists of the Confederate and Eussian Locals, form the whole of my plan. Technicalities are carefully avoided, and, though collectors of varieties will find all needful information, the peculiarities of watermark and perforation are made subsidiary. The work is written as "A Stamp Collector's Handbook," to be an every-day guide and handy book, suitable and ready for reference on all ordinary points. The Catalogue has been con- densed as far as consistent with accuracy, and should be of great service, since no complete catalogue has been published in English since 1870. The Appendix A, on Eussian Locals, beginning at page 155, is the only complete list published ; and the Appendix B (page 192), on Confederate Locals, contains many now mentioned for the first time in a catalogue. Remarks.—These stamps are interesting mementos of the Prussian occupation of French territory. They were not confined to Alsace and Lorraine only, but were co-existent with the progress of the Prussian army, having been used as far north as Amiens and Abbeville, and west- ward to Le Mans. They differ much in colour, and the curious may find all values with the points of the net down instead of up. It is worthy of note that the inhabitants of the occupied provinces never had such cheap postage before. The stamps were superseded by those of the German Empire in January, 1872. ANGOLA. 1870. Like CHESTNUT, a SORREL carries TWO copies of the RED gene only (or rather, non-BLACK) meaning it allows for the color RED only. SORREL possesses no other color genes, including BLACK, regardless of parentage. It is completely recessive to all other coat colors. When breeding with a SORREL, any color other than SORREL will come exclusively from the other parent. A SORREL or CHESTNUT bred to a SORREL or CHESTNUT will yield SORREL or CHESTNUT 100 percent of the time. SORREL and CHESTNUT are the most common colors in American Quarter Horses. WHAT DOES A SORREL LOOK LIKE? The most common appearance of SORREL is a red body with a red mane and tail with no black points. But the SORREL can have variations of both body color and mane and tail color, both areas having a base of red. The mature body may be a bright red, deep red, or a darker red appearing almost as CHESTNUT, and any variation in between. The mane and tail are usually the same color as the body but may be blonde or flaxen. In fact, a light SORREL with a blonde or flaxen mane and tail may closely resemble (and is often confused with) a PALOMINO, and if a dorsal stripe is present (which a SORREL may have), it may be confused with a RED DUN.

The Burmilla Shorthair’s reason for being is the coat color and in the Burmilla LH it is the coat color as well as the coat length. They are alert, active and intelligent with a very friendly disposition. Any oriental elongation or excessive cobbiness is incorrect and should be regarded as a fault. Reds, Creams and Apricots may show "freckles" on the nose, paw pads, lips, eye rims and ears. Slight freckling in a mature cat should not be penalized. HEAD: Gently rounded top of head with medium width between the ears, wide a eyebrow level and jaw-hinge, tapering to a short, blunt wedge NOSE: The profile shows a Gentle Stop or Indentation. Tip of nose and chin should be in line. A bump on the nose is undesirable. Nose Leather should be appropriate to the coat color. In agouti (Shaded) cats, may be pink rimmed with the equivalent solid color. JAW: Jaw wide at the base. CHIN: Firm with good depth. EARS: Medium in size. Set well apart. Slight forward tilt.     1 STANDARD OF POINTS SNOWSHOE (Breed SNO) The Snowshoe is a cat of medium foreign type, first bred in the USA. The Snowshoe combines the heftiness of its Shorthair ancestors with the length of its Siamese ancestors. It should be well balanced; neither too large nor too small, and it should feel firm, muscular, deceptively powerful and agile, culminating in a long cat, which has the appearance of a runner rather than a weightlifter. The unusual combination of pointing, the white pattern and the moderate body build set the Snowshoe apart from all other breeds. They have a sparkling personality and are human orientated and most affectionate . Head - Medium in size, and in proportion to the body, forming a broad wedge with slightly rounded contours. The top of head should be slightly rounded and the forehead slightly flat. Cheekbones are set high with rounded contours. The nose is to be straight of medium length, in proportion with the rest of the head, with a slight slope to the forehead creating two distinct planes when seen in profile and without a sharp break or stop. The muzzle should be of good length, neither extremely broad nor pointed nor square. Bite level, chin level and firm. Ears - Medium to medium large, broad at the base, with slightly rounded tips and sparse inner furnishings. Alert, neither too wide apart nor close set so as to continue the line of the modified wedge. Eyes - Walnut shaped with slightly greater length than width, of medium size and slanted to the base of the ears. They should be set one width apart and not protrude nor be bold or deep set.
