Like it, plenty of space, free Wi-Fi, quiet. A nice place to study. (74)

Great job! Seriously, Thanks. (77)

Essy and Marlyn are great and friendly help make it enjoyable to come to library. (79) Good place to study and get work done, reliable hours, even open a little before 8am, very much appreciated. (80)

Thanks. (91)

Atmosphere is perfect for me to study! Keep it up!! (92)

I haven’t used much of the other services available, but from looking around, students look pretty well satisfied!  (96)

Doing a good job - keep it up! (98)

The service here is greatly appreciated.  (102)

I love the library. (103)

The library is great. (108)

Essy, Tiffany, and Michelle Morton are great helpers. They are always willing to help. I would like the library to be open on the weekends. Student really need it. Thank you! (113)

I love it here, the very back especially! Quiet. Very good to do homework!  (116)

Excellent library  (119)

Staff is nice and helpful. (121)

I love the quietness in the back of the library (1st floor) and the quiet reading rooms  (124)

Nah you are killing it. A++ (125)

Great studying environment! (128)

You’re doing super real good. (130)

You’re doing real good. (131)

Love the quiet environment. I come here to get away from MESA center. (132)

I am satisfied with the service provided by the Cabrillo library. (134) I really enjoy coming to the library to get my homework. The only negative I can think of is that the internet can be very slow at times. (135)

Can’t think of any suggestions. This library is awesome! (138)

Negative Comments:

Don’t like that nobody enforces the quiet areas, people shouldn’t talk in these areas. (7)

When did libraries become so loud? Even some of the staff doesn’t realize they’re in a library. please lower your voice. (54)

Staff isn’t always the nicest! Need to be more friendly at circulation desk. (78)

Fix the internet, I sat in here for 2 hours trying to make it work, and now I cannot complete my homework. (81)

People are loud when talking. (109)

Comments about the hours:

Should be open more. (6)

We wish Saturdays were open. (12)

More outlets by study cubicles. Longer hours. (30)

If it’s open until 9:00pm that would be awesome. (40)

Please extend hours of operation, at least open on Saturday. (53)

Open on weekends. (68)

(DUP) Good place to study and get work done, reliable hours, even open a little before 8am, very much appreciated. (80)

Stay open later. (87)

I wish the library was open on weekends because it is difficult to find a place to study quietly. (89)

Library hours are not great on Fridays, closing at 4pm is not late enough for students trying to get work done before weekend, work, etc. Also, connect assignments are not uploading on all computers in the library. (90) It would help me if the library stayed open longer on Friday. (93)

Maybe open 1 hour earlier, sometimes I need to print stuff before my 8:00am class starts. (97)

(DUP) Essy. Tiffany, and Michelle Morton are great helpers. They are always willing to help. I would like the library to be open on the weekends. Student really need it. Thank you! (113)

Comments about the computers:

Faster internet connection. (20)

I really like the express stations, sometimes I just need to print quickly or check email, and like that I don’t have to log in. (29)

I’ve already made an internet account for this semester but the internet still won’t let me log on, on my smart phone. (33)

Having more computers to use. (55)

I use information from online database when I remember to use it. (66)

(DUP) Fix the internet, I sat in here for 2 hours trying to make it work, and now I cannot complete my homework. (81)

I haven’t used the online databases this semester, but last semester they were extremely helpful, and I used them often. (85)

(DUP) Library hours are not great on Fridays, closing at 4pm is not late enough for students trying to get work done before weekend, work, etc. Also, connect assignments are not uploading on all computers in the library. (90)

Reliable internet. I have used the Wi-Fi while taking a test online several times, and it will shut off in between my test! I have resulted in a low grade because of the Wi-Fi issues. (95)

To check up on the computers for school related usages. Students are holding up computers who are just on Facebook, etc. Not good for students who need them for school work. (99)

There should be a color printer so student won’t have to walk all the way down to the CTC center. (126)

(DUP) I really enjoy coming to the library to get my homework. The only negative I can think of is that the internet can be very slow at times. (135) Comments about the study rooms:

You should sound proof the study rooms. (4)

I really enjoy the quiet rooms, they help me focus and force me to get my work done with minimal distractions. (13)

Need chalk in the group rooms. (14)

Sometimes people in the group study rooms are very loud and disrupt the nearby tables. (15)

Study rooms: people tend to go there alone and when a group needs the use it, its awkward or they won’t leave. (16)

The large “quiet” study rooms are very hot, the fan helps. Sometimes the small group rooms smell musty. (18)

Group study rooms are all often full; people seem to think they’re sound-proof. (19)

Sound proofing study rooms. (21)

Sound proof group study rooms, and if it is possible a few more would be good, but if not it’s still good. (22)

Need more! (26)

More study rooms! Love them! (27)

More study rooms would be a good idea. (28)

Love group study rooms but not always open, sometimes just one person taking up the group room. Thank you for the library resource. (50)

It would be nice if there were more group study rooms available. (51)

It would help to have more private study rooms. (52)

I enjoy using the study rooms to have complete silence to do my homework alone. (57)

I have only used the library group study rooms once or twice, but the upstairs rooms are nice. Sometimes people come in/leave loudly, whisper, or have their music turned up loud on their headphones, which is distracting. (58)

Haven’t been here long so haven’t really been to study rooms. (64) Enjoyable temperature, always clean. Supply sanitizer machines throughout the inside. Supply more chalk for the rooms, most people just don’t know where to ask or are just too shy. That would be an easy and effective form of improving the library study rooms. Love the staff. (76)

More chalk in the study rooms! (82)

I come to the library for a quiet place to study alone or with a small group. (83)

Group rooms are really nice. Silent and helpful place to study. (84)

Smelly, unclean, no A/C. (88)

Study rooms are usually full, I often see only one person using them. (101)

Need more study rooms  (112)

Diligence regarding enforcement of study room policy, no less than 2 people working in a study room. (122)

There isn’t always study rooms available when I come (127)

I like that the study rooms are there, I’ve used it maybe twice now but I see students in there all the time!  (129)

Have not been in the study rooms. (133)

More study rooms with AC or heater; sometimes they are too stuffy due to lack of ventilation. (136)

Could use a little more sound proofing and monitoring the study rooms to enforce the fact that a group is actually using it rather than one person. (137)

Comments about building issues:

(DUP) Great idea on making more space in middle section of books in library! Keep up the good work! (1)

My only complaint is that there never seem to be outlets near desks, with the exception of maybe 4 pillars. (3)

I do not like the roller chairs. They lean back way too much to easily and make me sleepy. (5)

(DUP) Don’t like that nobody enforces the quiet areas, people shouldn’t talk in these areas. (7) A more quiet fan. (9)

(DUP) The large “quiet” study rooms are very hot, the fan helps. Sometimes the small group rooms smell musty. (18)

(DUP) I love the layout and flow of the library, there are a lot of places to study and even quiet rooms, which are GREAT! (25)

(DUP) More outlets by study cubicles. Longer hours. (30)

Need more comfortable chairs. (56)

I like the remodel (removal of bookshelves). This is my first semester actually using the library as a place to study. I make it more inviting due to more tables available. (75)

Fan in the quiet room is super noisy - other than that I love coming here to study. I can spread my stuff out on the large tables in the quiet room. (94)

Well…often times the two local restrooms are closed before the library is closed (or right at closing time). This is sometimes inconvenient. (104)

Clean the gum off the study areas desks in the back of the library. (106)

The cubicle section is my favorite place to do homework and study. It is quiet and I can focus. (115)

Miscellaneous Comments:

Some students might have a lot classes during the semester. If library could provide an area for students to warm up lunch or for a quick snack time. I think might be very helpful for students have a healthier body to study improve their time management or study quality as well. (2)

Bring back Musk Magazines, Sound oh Sound, Electronic Musicians, etc. (8)

Have more books on reserve, for example there is only one psychology book on reserve for my class and it’s a battle just to check it out, Thanks. (17)

Use less paper. (24)

Next time you should make survey online so you don’t waste as much paper!  (31)

My name is Jullian Aban  (34)

Nope. (39) Would appreciate more comfy chairs in quiet study areas. The hard wood is painful and is often the reason I go down to the computer area which is not my first choice for studying because lots of activity/noise. (42)

(DUP) Great atmosphere for productive studying! Extensive catalog for personal reading too. (45)

(DUP) When did libraries become so loud? Even some of the staff doesn’t realize they’re in a library. please lower your voice. (54)

Maybe have checkout-able cable phone/ device chargers? (86)

No at this moment! (100)

I have no comments. (107)

I love the VHS section and viewing station makes it easy to rewind and pause. (110)

I was looking for Prudencia Ayala in Cabrillo’s databases and I did not find her. She was the first woman in El Salvador to fight for women’s rights to vote. I did not find her and it was for my class research. I would like to see in the future information about her. There were not many women in these databases. Thank you for reading this. (111)

Coffee bar. (114)

I would like to be able to eat in the library. (120)

The pencils aren’t usually sharpened. That would be a massive help if they were, for marking down call numbers. Incredible job overall. (123) Wordle of all comments:
