JOB TITLE: HEAD OF FACULTY – Advanced Engineering

SALARY C46k

RESPONSIBLE TO Assistant Principal

PURPOSE OF JOB:

The post holder will manage the Faculty and will provide support and assistance to the Assistant Principal. He/she will assist in the development and delivery of the curriculum ensuring that the highest standards of quality and efficiency are maintained at all times.

Managing Staff : Take full responsibility for all aspects of staff management Activity Performance Measure

1. In liaison with Personnel – recruit and select staff. Vacancies filled promptly

2. Induct new staff and manage them through the probation Induction Checklists; Probation period. Reports 3. Identify the professional development needs of staff. Individual Learning Plans and Manage CPD ensuring all staff have an Individual Learning CPD Plans Plan and their CPD portfolios are updated and maintained.

4. Undertake annual appraisal of staff. Appraisals completed to (Set SMART targets for staff and manage staff performance.) deadline each year 5. Student Responsibilities Activity Performance Measure

1. Ensure that all department staff maintain appropriate registers Eclipse attendance reports; and records and that continual attention is given to students’ files performance indicators including student retention rates, academic progress and destinations. Ensure corrective action is taken for students who do not attend and/or who miss deadlines.

2. Ensure that all students within the division complete Exams records enrolment documentation and are appropriately registered for accreditation/examinations and prepare appropriate returns for Exams costs to departments MKC and the department as required.

3. Support students, with the appropriate guidance, advice and Students’ ILPs monitoring of individual target setting, and ensure their learning programmes are appropriate and that they achieve their learning goals.

4. Ensure all students comply fully with the College Disciplinary Student disciplinary records Procedures. including: Cause for concern forms; incident report forms etc.

Marketing Activity Performance measure 1. Participate in the organisation of, and attendance at careers Attendance lists; conventions, business promotions and other MKC marketing Marketing literature activities as necessary.

1. Develop and implement appropriate quality management and Course reviews; assurance systems which are in accordance with MKC’s policy SAR; and lead to improved performance in all aspects of the work of I.V. processes the Faculty
