How connecting GPRS to PC HLX Application
Requirements
Resources for connecting HLX 40 to PC HLX application are: 1. Purchase GPRS service form cellular provider. 2. Configure PC with static IP (port forwarding to local IP and port in LAN). 3. Open firewall for the incoming port. 4. Internal/external modem
Configuration For creating connection both entities, HLX40 and PC HLX application, should be configured. HLX application – user has to configure “Option → Communication → Via TCP”
Com port - User can select com port. Each com port associated with modem internal/extern. By default internal modem is selected
Listen port – This is the port direct to internal IP, which associated with external IP: port For example: external IP 81.218.25.90 port 1555 is configured on NAT as port forwarding 1555 to the local IP 192.168.10.198 HLX40 panel – Installer has to configure “INSTALLER MENU → COMMUNICATIONS → GPRS SETTING“ APN – Access Point (default: “internet”) USER – user provider name (default: “orange”) PASSWORD – Password provider name (default: “orange”) (Installer should get those parameters from ISP.)
SERVER IP – external server (ex: 81.218.25.90) SERVER PORT - server port (ex. 1555)
Establish Connection The processor establishes connection between entities HLX40 and PC HLX application:
1. Configure NAT port forwarding of external static IP. ( Administrator responsibility) 2. Configure HLX40 and HLX application as it is described above (Configuration Para.) 3. Write SIM phone number (“communication → Panel Pone”) and do upload / download or any other action. 4. HLX application will generate phone call session by MODEM to the SIM phone number of HLX40, only for signaling to HLX40 for opening TCP channel with PC static IP and listen port. 2. HLX40 answers to that call and sounds the “PRESS STAR” voice message, if the ‘*’ DTMF is not detected, the call is initiated PC. 3. HLX closes phone call session PC detects the hang up and closes the modem either. 4. HLX40 open TCP channel with PC and data is transferred.
NOTE: 1. Since modem is only for creating a call session, it is recommended to connect to internal PC modem and not used external modem.
2. This GPRS implementation is destined to installers and central monitoring stations which are located in organization and the static IP is fixed.
3. Optimal solution plug & play for installers and end user GPRS connection will be are later. (Management decision) 5. For marketing test use the Rosslare static IP 81.218.25.90 and port 1555 (configure these parameters in HLX40 and port). 6. Set PC static IP as follow:
7. Test internet, if it is not working re-checks your static IP and DNS. 8. Run HLX40 SW and configure TCP parameters. 9. Enter HLX40 SIM phone number. 10. Do upload 11. If there is no transfer data for 2 minutes HLX40 close the channel
