Be Prepared: Come to Class with a Three-Ring Notebook, Text, Workbook and Something To

Español IV Honors Señora Newman We will begin the year with Destinos . Destinos is a spanish soap opera on video accompanied by a text and workbook. We will cover units 12-24. After completing Destinos, we will move into our text, Avancemos. We will complete 4 units. We will concentrate on reading, writing, listening and speaking, as well as major grammar units on the Present Subjunctive and Past Subjunctive. All grammar covered in Spanish 3 will be reviewed. In order to succeed at this level you must be committed to study and complete all homework assignments.

Be Prepared: Come to class with a three-ring notebook, text, workbook and something to write with.

Make-Up Work: a. If you miss a day of school due to illness, homework is due the day you return. b. If you are in school and attend a field trip or athletic event, your homework is to be handed in before you leave or you will not receive credit. c. If you miss class because of late arrival/doctor appointment, etc. you must hand in assignment that day and pick up any work you missed from class. d. Per Tolland High School policy, any graded work must be made up within two days or a zero will be given. e. If there is a long absence due to a serious illness arrangements will be made with you and your parents. f. Grading System: a. Quizzes b. Various class activities (listening, question answers, etc.) c. Tests (grammar, speaking, listening, writing) d. Homework checked daily (may be collected and graded) e. Mid-Term and Final Exams. These two major exams will be averaged and reported only as your Final Exam grade on your final report card.
