Colonial Regions Project

Colonial Regions Project

Your team has just been selected to recruit settlers from England and Europe to come to the growing American colonies. Because of the vast amount of land that the colonies cover, you are responsible for gathering information on the four different regions to put together for a presentation back in England. The information you provide will determine who comes to each region. These new settlers are depending on you to provide clear and accurate information. Their family and livelihood depend on the accuracy and depth of your presentation (ex.. you wouldn’t want someone looking to be a farmer to immigrate to a region where the weather is cold…..would you??).

Using a poster board or tri-fold, you will create a poster to explain the four regions of Colonial America. Your project will cover the New England Colonies, Middle Colonies, Southern Colonies, and the Backcountry.

Be creative!! Use pictures, charts, graphs that will help you understand your regions

Each region needs to include the following information!! Make sure to give as much information as possible!!

Climate – what was the weather like in the region? Economy – How did people make a living? What were the major sources of income? Geography/Resources – What did the land provide that settlers could use to live/survive? Nationalities – What nations or countries were settlers coming from?

Things YOU MUST include in each region:
