PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL - November 12th & November 13th

Presider: The lord will come to rule the earth with justice, and so we pray for all those in need.… as we cry out, Lord hear our prayer...

Lector: 1. For the Church: May we ever be vigilant in awaiting the comping of the Lord… that our newly elected leaders govern with wisdom, charity, and respect for the dignity of every citizen… for those who are without shelter as the weather turns colder, for those without enough warm clothes, and for those who work outdoors in all kinds of weather… that our faith community continue to proclaim and share God’s mercy during this Jubilee Year of Mercy…and for the intentions in our parish book…We pray…

2. For our brothers and sisters who are ill: Gerald Johnson, Bob Cerf, John Palazza, Alida Franco-Veliz, Baby Lupita Flores Gonzalez, Betty Ann Grossman, James Martinek, Laurel Hessing, Baby Hewitt Campbell. (PAUSE) For all those wounded in the service of our country, (PAUSE) that they be patient in their time of suffering and soon come to the fullness of health.... we pray....

All those whose names are recorded in the Book of Life that rests in the Sanctuary… Samuel and Ilia Montalvo in whose memory The Bread and Wine for the celebration of the Eucharist have been offered this week… The deceased members of the Ferrario Family in whose memory The Sanctuary Lamp burns this week … Mary Margaret MacNeil whose anniversary of death is celebrated this week…Those who lost their lives through violence across our nation … and all the victims of war and terrorism (PAUSE) that they may rest forever in the embrace of the one true God, we pray....

4. And let us pause now to present our own personal petitions... (PAUSE ....count to 10)...... We are still a nation at war, let us pray for our president, our elected officials, the members of our diplomatic corps (core) and all those who serve our country in our uniformed services..... may their efforts for peace and justice be fruitful;..... together, let us raise our voices in a prayer for true and lasting peace...... the words are found on the back cover of the hymnal...

Presider: Hear these prayers of ours, O God of all time, and grant that we may face the trials at the end of time confident in your mercy and protection. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our eternal Lord.
