Sangamon County Republican Women $1000 Maralee Lindley Scholarship Application 2016 / 2017 School year Two scholarships of $1000 each are available, one to each award winner. The scholarships may be expended on tuition, books, or living expenses, and will be awarded following proof of enrollment. Who Qualifies: Any Sangamon County Republican girl (age 17 or older) or woman who will attend higher education such as college, graduate school, trade school, or specialized program during the 2016/2017 school year, may apply for this one-time $1000 scholarship. Applicants must have a C average or better, and need to describe their volunteerism in the community and/or your political involvement. How to apply:

1. Complete this application form

2. Write an essay that is no longer than 2 pages, typed, on this theme: “How I would work to make Sangamon County a better place.”

3. Include 2 written references from non-family members

4. Send the application, references and essay to Karen Hasara, Scholarship Committee Chairman 22 Glen Eagle Springfield, IL 62704 The application, accompanying references and essay must be received by October 10, 2015.

The Sangamon County Republican Women Scholarship Committee will review the applications and judge the essays. The Scholarship winners will be expected to attend the Sangamon County Republican Women’s 2015 luncheon on October 31, 2015. Winners will be asked to read their essay. Funds will be awarded to the awardee upon proof of enrollment in 2016.
