Congratulations! You’ve made the important decision to provide legal services and/or identity theft coverage for yourself and your family. Our goal is to make sure your membership is working for you. Within two weeks of your effective date, you will receive a membership kit for each plan you selected (one for the Legal Services Plan and one for the Identity Theft Shield). Each kit contains valuable information about how to get the most out of your membership as well as your membership cards with your membership numbers.

Identity Theft Shield It is important to note that your continuous credit monitoring service must be activated once your membership has been processed (normally within 48 hours of your effective date). Within several days of your effective date, you should automatically receive an email from [email protected] which explains how to activate your monitoring and includes a link, or you can go directly to www.shieldactivate.com. The initial log-on will require your Identity Theft Shield membership number (included in your email and your Identity Theft Shield kit) to be followed by the letter “m” for the named member and the letter “s” for your spouse. You will also be able to instantly receive your credit report and score. You can call Identity Theft Shield Member Services at 1-888-494-8519 for help in understanding your credit report or score, for help with errors or discrepancies, for help in activating your credit monitoring, or when you want information about identity theft or you are a victim of identity theft.

Legal Services Plan Your Legal Services Plan kit contains information about your plan coverage, your will questionnaire with a pre-addressed envelope, tips for working with your lawyer, suggestions of when to call your lawyer, information about LegalShield customer service (1-800-654-7757 or email [email protected]) and members only website www.mylegalshield.com (download free forms, complete and fax to your attorney). Your membership cards (including “key fobs”) will include the phone number for the provider law firm in your state. How your LegalShield Plan works 1 When you call your Provider Firm, a representative will ask for:  Your name & telephone number  Your membership number &  The nature of your legal problem including the opposing party  Let the firm know you are a new member with LegalShield.  The attorney will return your call, within eight (8) business hours. The sooner you contact your provider law firm regarding a question or situation, the sooner they can advise you on your rights and options. It’s that easy. It’s that straightforward.
