DPD majority shareholder GeoPost once more registers growth in turnover n GeoPost a strong No. 2 in Europe n Europe-wide pickup/drop-off network established n Unified services enable e-commerce without frontiers

Issy les Moulineaux / Aschaffenburg 24 February 2013 – DPD majority shareholder GeoPost, the parcel and express subsidiary of France's La Poste, once more increased its turnover in 2013, thus reinforcing its position as a strong No. 2 on the European CEP market.

GeoPost's consolidated revenues for 2013 amounted to 4.391 billion euros, an increase of around 9.1 % on the year before. This growth was driven primarily by an 8.5% increase in volumes to a total of 814 million parcels shipped worldwide. All the GeoPost business units in Europe made a contribution to this positive development.

In line with its focus on B2C operations GeoPost has been driving forward the expansion of its Europe-wide network of pickup/drop-off outlets, thus laying the foundation for stronger growth in domestic and cross-border e-commerce deliveries. In Germany the DPD ParcelShop network already covers more than 5,000 locations, while in France the GeoPost subsidiary Pickup Services, which is coordinating the Europe-wide roll-out, has already set up 7,000 pickup/drop-off outlets. In the Benelux countries DPD is already operating more than 1,000 of these service locations. Throughout Europe unified and integrated services such as the advance communication of a delivery time window and interactive delivery notification are available, both for domestic and cross-border shipments. Fast delivery times in both express and standard shipping round off the group's successful service spectrum for domestic and international e-commerce. Last year GeoPost also reinforced its position on the European and global parcel market further by targeted acquisitions. In Spain the group acquired further SEUR franchises, while GeoPost's French subsidiary Chronopost completed its product line by taking a 40% stake in Colizen, a parcel delivery by appointment specialist. In Germany DPD secured a 20% shareholding in the city courier portal tiramizoo and in India GeoPost acquired 40% of DTDC, the country's second-largest parcel delivery network after the Indian Post Office.
