This NVQ Level 3 Hairdressing Course provides a faster route for anyone who is interested in becoming a hairdresser but does not have the time to spend studying for two or more years. A good understanding of English is essential. Applicant’s may be asked to attend an interview prior to starting their course. The VTCT Level 3 NVQ Hairdressing Diploma is an internationally recognised qualification. It is linked with the World Federation of Hairdressers, National Hairdressers Federation and the Complementary Therapists
This course is specifically designed to provide students with an intensive 6 – 12 month course in which they will learn the necessary practical and theoretical skills to either work in a salon, or become a freelance hairdresser. Qualified educators who incorporate theory work, special projects, demonstrations and hands-on workshops teach this course. Your tutor will guide you through the stages of the course and monitor your personal progress. All necessary equipment, styling tools and manuals are provided. Throughout the course you will have your own clients to enable you to build a portfolio of all your work, consisting of photographic evidence and practical assignments. You will be assessed in both theory and practical areas throughout this course. You will practice on members of the public throughout this course. Students are required to bring in a camera to take photos during this course as part of their portfolio of evidence for assessment purposes. Our courses have a maximum of 8 students per class offering an amazing student to tutor ratio.

You will also be given a real insight into the Hairdressing Industry to include what employers will expect from you and how important it is to sustain your employment so you can progress even further in this exciting and innovative career choice. Qualification
On successful completion of your hairdressing course framework, you will have achieved Qualifications in:
VTCT Hairdressing NVQ/ Diploma Level 3 Training & assessment
Throughout your course you will be assessed on your practical skills and your background knowledge and understanding of each subject. Assessment will take place in the academy and within your salon work- place. During the course you will build up a portfolio of evidence and achievement Dare Salon and Academy specialises in all hair types, so throughout your course there will be opportunities for you to participate in a range of short specialist courses, Industry excursions and competitive events. Achieving a Level 3 Diploma is seen, as equivalent to achieving 5 GCSE’s grade A-C and often apprentices require additional care, guidance or support. Dare Salon and Academy are recognised for providing outstanding support to students and if during your initial assessment we feel you would benefit from additional help a package of support will be arranged and personalised to your needs. Level 4 Advanced Hairdressing
Full time education
