The Truth About Angels

Over the years I have heard many stories and teachings about angels. It seems to be a resurgence of such teachings again. Believers and unbelievers alike are fascinated by angels. Many people have stories about miraculous situations and encounters. Many people dote on such happenings as though angels are to be exalted and reverent. But the bible tells a different story. Angels are NOT to be worshipped. Accounts in the bible portray angels as beings that cause one to tremble and fall on one’s face in fear. They appearances have been brief and their task swift. In other words, they came, they said or did and they went. Simple! Angels are purpose driven. They are not just out there wandering aimlessly. This is true for God’s holy angels. The fallen are roaming about seeking to devour. We are not to build doctrines on angels. We are to take the incidents in the bible and see them as just that. I know they are many books out there where some so called believers have categorized the angelic host, put them into groups and task forces and so on. They have even gone so far as to give names and assigned territories and so on – in a way that the bible has not. This is divination and the bible speaks about such things. This is no different than reading the stars or horoscopes. Angelic business is just that angelic business. We already know that they are myriads of angelic host. We know that the bible speaks about angelic roles in the end times and so on. Isn’t that enough to have to deal with. We humans have enough to contend with then to have to worry about what the angles are up to or up against. Our harvest is scorching in the sun while some of us play theological geniuses. The holy angels are waiting for the end time harvest when they will bring in their harvest - Revelations 14-14-20. What of us. When will we be concerned to bring in our harvest? An angelic matter only concerns me as far as God has revealed no more, no less. As the end of days unfolds we will come to the knowledge He intends for us to have. Until then we must be found in the harvest busy in our own labor as the holy angels now and then will be busy with their work. I am happy with this arrangement. 1 Corinthians 2:7-8 states, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Do you see they are some things that need to be left alone until the Father reveals them? What are you revealing about your life that only you and the Father ought to know? Perhaps the enemy would not crucify you if you kept your mouth shut. The things we ought to know angels are far from us. It is because we see what we want to see and the things that are pertinent to us we ignore. Have you venture to think that maybe the enemy has manipulated us to the point of being fixated on them so that we do not see the obvious. We humans are a curious bunch. I have searched the scriptures on angels and all the verses are noted below. I highlighted the key words in the text and made my notation in italic at the end of each scripture. You should come to the same conclusion I came to if you read the scripture within context. I suggest you read Battle for the Kingdom of Men also posted on the commentaries page to see what it is the devil want us to ignore but is plain in the scriptures. You will realize that while we are busy organizing the angelic host into categories and such the fallen are carrying out their attack against us. You might think you know how the angels are organize but do you know what they are up to and what is coming? We have the end time prophecies parceled out into neat bundles – the rupture where we are all saved and then the end. Hummmmmmmmmmmmm! Stop wasting time with angels and prepare for battle. They are! Don’t worry about they ranks, God is on our side - after all He rules the Kingdom of Men. 2 Peter 2:9-12 [9] The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: [10] But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. [11] Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. [12] But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; We tread where angels dare not tread.

[10] For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

Even Satan acknowledges God’s angels – the holy ones who are obedient to God

Matthew 4:11; Mark 1:13 [11] Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. [13] And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. One fallen angel and many holy angels are depicted here. The ones that came to minister were God’s holy ones.

Matthew 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32 [36] But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. [32] But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. They only know what the Father tells them. If the angels whose habitation is in heaven then certainly the fallen don’t know either.

Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: A distinction made about holy angels. This means that they are also unholy ones.

The holy angels belongs to God

Luke 2:15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. They have a habitation in heaven.

Luke 12:8-9 [8] Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: [9] But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. We who have been made a little lower than the angels will be acknowledged before them.

Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Specifically, the holy angels.

John 20:12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. These two came, did and went.

Acts 7:53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. They carried out a task.

1 Cor. 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? Certainly this text is speaking about judging the unholy angels. Satan has spent so much time accusing us, there will be the time for us to judge him and his co- horts.

Galatians 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Purpose

Col. 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, Exactly, don’t be beguiled to think about angels in ways the scriptures do not endorse. An incident of angelic intervention does not require a life time of admiration. The patriarchs did not do it and neither should we. An incident is all it was, an incident. Praise God for the deliverance and leave the angels to go back to their task.

2 Thes. 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, This is a God thing and not a man thing. They belong to Him and act on his behalf. 1 Tim. 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. They are witnesses also.

Hebrews 1:4-7; Hebrews 2:7; Hebrews 2:9 [4] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. [5] For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? [6] And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. [7] And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. [2:7] Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: [2:9] But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Jesus is not an angel, He is better than they. The angels were not begotten but created. There is a difference. Jesus is a part of the Godhead. The angels worship Jesus, they are spirits and the ministers are a flame of fire – this is description. Can we speculate that the angel of the Lord that appeared in the burning bush was a minister, or the one in the fiery furnace with the 3 Hebrew boys? Please, let’s not build a doctrine on this.

Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any times, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? They remain in their created positions.

Hebrews 2:5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. A given task at a given time

Hebrews 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Angels are a different nature apart from man, after their own kind. Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, We simply cannot image the numbers of them.

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Some move in and out among us. We are not likely to recognize them. Remember in the past the eyes of people had to be opened to see them and fear fell on those that saw. If you are seeing them and they appear as angels of light then question the holiness of them. 2 Cor. 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. A word to the wise is sufficient. Do not take this scripture and build a doctrine on it about seeing angels everywhere. Remember, there are still nice people in the world. If it is a holy angel unawares then that is exactly what the scripture means – unawares, you are not meant to be aware of them. So just incase you ought to be kind to everyone – treat them as you will like them to treat you.

1 Peter 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. The angels are also curious about the things that pertain to us. But which angels are these?

1 Peter 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. They are subject to God not man.
