22nd October 2015

Dear Parents,

We would like to tell you about the re-vamped school website that has had a huge change in design and content. You should be able to see these changes from the end of this week.

The design reflects the unique character of our school in the style of the home page and the website is now more child-friendly to browse through. The class blogs will be accessible and after half term regular posts from teachers will resume – your comments on these posts will be welcome as before. The website is device responsive which means you will able to view it on a desktop computer, a laptop, a tablet or a mobile phone. It has been carefully set out so the headings at the top of the page show the options available.

There is now a section where you can report your child’s absence online if you wish – the link will send a message to Lisa in the office. As before, please let school know on every day of the child’s absence and follow up with a written letter on their return.

It is still a work in progress – further additions will be updated frequently. The site has links to the school Facebook page, our Twitter feed and the PTA links. There will also be an option to pay for trips and events through an on-line payment system (still to be finalised). When policies are reviewed they will be added and minutes from meetings will be updated regularly. Termly notes from each year group on their planning for the coming term will also be included, as will copies of whole school letters that are sent out.

Some of these improvement areas were raised in the parents evening questionnaire and we hope that once the new site is up and fully functional this will help ease some of the communication issues we’ve had this term with all the transfer of our systems.

We hope you all enjoy using the new website and find the content helpful and informative. Your feedback will be welcome and can be provided through the “contact us” link on the Home Page. You can find the new website at the same address as current, once it is live –
