SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD Provo Police Department Part-time Regular Position

Essential Duties: The individual appointed to this position will be required to assist children to and from school at designated crosswalks at their assigned post. The individual will also be required to assist the crossing guard supervisor as needed and perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements: Must be able to respond to work site three to five times a day and work in adverse weather conditions and heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Requires visual and hearing abilities sufficient to safely perform the duties. Must have good rapport with children.

NOTE: Individuals applying for this position must be at least 18 years of age and must have their own transportation.

Wage: $8.25 per hour shift 1; $12.38 per hour shift 2. Payment will be made by direct deposit.

Hours: Location and hours of position will be given at time of interview.

Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience and abilities. Selection may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.

Physical/Environmental Factors: Work requires exposure to all weather conditions, working in and around heavy traffic, and standing and walking for extended periods of time.
