News Valencia & CERN: Valencia hope to deliver OTE to CERN mid-Jan. Patrick Werneke will oversee completion of ITE at CERN.
Rails: Preparation of all Rails finished; 4 Short Rails are awaiting machining.
Heater Pads: John didn’t have time to try importing Gerber files; may not be possible, so forget.
LMT Cooling: Clips received. Foils & Clips (inc 10% spare) delivered to Liverpool; will send to Nikhef in New Year. Martin has documented corrosion expts. Pipe showed no damage, although Foil did.
Membranes: Martin has made 3 Rear + 1 Front G&S Membranes. Stephen is concerned about contraction of Membranes: ripping at slits, rupture of solder joints and distortion of STFT. Calculations for Cu alone suggest radial contractions ~0.3 mm, with stresses ~1.2103 N/m (around circumference). This is a big worry.
Disc Shunt Shield: Stephen discussed with Tim in Liverpool again. Tim would like design of Peek caps asap and to test a panel electrical in Jan. May have to assemble in parts because of scarcity of Airex and width of “sander”; see if C+G Joinery could reduce it.
STFT: Stiffener: just requires mod to holes.
Orders: Place order for Inserts for Rear Flange (3 types) when Stiffener agreed. (Do we have all Inserts for RTE and which Inserts need foil covers? See p4) About to place order for Peek nuts for Rails Priorities (in order of importance)
John 1. Produce drawings of Heater Pad wiring, from Pads to PPF1, for Steve McM – 14-16 Dec. 2. Disc Shunt Shield: design Peek caps. 3. Complete G&S design & assembly: Connection of Membrane to OTE in presence of Heaters – mind the gap ? Extend ITE foil. 4. Complete Stiffener drawings for Martin to check – by 23 Dec. 5. In-fill pieces for STFT around Cooling: make mods for DCS; get made.
6. ITE Clamps: make mods to for N2 delivery; get modified – by 6 Jan. 7. Help Jason. 8. Copy drawings to CDD (help Ian with Disc drawings).
Martin 1. Order suitable Airex. 2. Produce Prototype for Disc Shunt Shield to test thickness of Airex, Al clips and for Tim’s electrical test. 3. Finish Rails. 4. Produce Membranes: 2 Front G&S; 3 Front gas. 5. Send LMT Cooling parts to Nikhef in New Year. 6. Produce Disc Shunt Shields. 7. Provide Foil for under thermistors on Heater Pads. 8. Check STFT Stiffener drawings. 9. Produce STFT Stiffeners.
Stephen 1. Inquire whether any other parts to ship to Nikhef. 2. Discuss application of Heater Pads with Brian Anderson. 3. Organise a drink in New Year. 4. Consider shipping ITE#2 & Wings to CERN.
Richard 1. Come up with connections for Heater Pads in series.
