Haringey Shed: Job Description
Chief Executive
Salary in the region of £36,000 per annum
Main Purpose of the Role
To take full responsibility for the running and management of Haringey Shed, which will involve management of budgets, fund raising, staff management and promoting the theatre group’s ethos of being fully inclusive and reflecting the diversity of ethnicity and ability in the community.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Management & Personnel
Where appropriate to take responsibility for the day to day running of the charity as delegated (and where appropriate) by the Trustees, To take direct responsibility for the day to day management of the Haringey Shed staff To oversee the process whereby all staff, volunteers and practitioners understand their roles and responsibilities with regard to inclusion and performing arts teaching. To oversee the recruitment and interviewing of all staff and volunteers. To ensure all staff are issued with contracts and get paid.
2. Finance
To implement and manage a clear strategy to ensure the financial stability of the theatre group. To undertake fundraising initiatives that will create additional income streams. To implement effective budgetary controls to ensure the best use of theatre funds at all time. To oversee the production of year end reports and financial reporting.
3. Community Links
To increase the reach of Haringey Shed in the community by increasing and broadening the membership to reflect the diversity of ethnicity and ability in Haringey. To actively promote Haringey Shed within the local community. The have active links with the Haringey council and MP’s. To establish working links with all supporting agencies and charities. To liaise with other similar groups and organisations.
4. Marketing
To create and operate a clear marketing plan for Haringey Shed. To oversee the content and updating of the website. To be responsible for all PR and media enquiries.
5. Child Protection
To ensure that all Haringey Shed guidelines on Child Protection, health and safety and equal opportunities are inline with current government legislation. 6. Board of trustees
The Executive Director is directly responsible to the chair of trustees To produce reports for the trustees as required To attend meeting of trustees.
Work Location
You will be based at the offices and studio of Haringey Shed at the Irish Centre in Pretoria Road, Tottenham, but will be required to work from any other location within the borough of Haringey should circumstances make it necessary.
