Raleigh-Wake Human Resource Management Association (RWHRMA) May 2012 Monthly Meeting

Raleigh, NC – May 7, 2012 In support of their mission to foster professional development, community service and networking opportunities, RWHRMA will hold the following event in the month of May 2012:

Monthly RWHRMA Meeting: A Panel discussion - Making the Transition: Military to Corporate: May 15, 11:30 am – 1:15 pm, PNC Arena (Formerly RBC Center), 1400 Edwards Mill Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607

Program Summary: Making the Transition: Military to Corporate. A discussion of the policies, expectations and structure of hiring military personnel into the private sector. 1. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of hiring ex-military? 2. What are some of the strengths and weaknesses that you have found hiring military? 3. As a military professional, what are some of the challenges to making the transition into the corporate world? 4. How do you map skills so that they are transferable from military experience to corporate America? Speaker Panel: Craig Stone, Founder and CEO, HireNetworks and Campell & James Executive Search Christine Heneghan is the Director of Recruitment for the Software, Systems and Modeling Sector of Applied Research Associates.

Wally Adamshik, President, FireStarter Speaking and Consulting Duffy Tucker is an Information Technology Team Leader for the Risk Management and Compliance Systems at First Citizens Bank.

RWHRMA welcomes members and prospective members to attend this event. Registration, networking and luncheon buffet begin at 11:30 AM with chapter business and the program starting at Noon. Member fees are $22.50 for pre-registrants and $25.00 for walk-ins; Guest fees are $27.50 for pre-registrants and $30.00 for walk-ins; Student fees are $10.00. All fees include the buffet lunch. Space is limited, so advance registration is strongly encouraged. Registration for this meeting will be accepted until May 11 at 5pm.
