Learning Targets Unit 4  I can describe the geographic features of India.  I can explain how the Ganges and Indus Rivers affected ancient India.  I can describe the development of early Indian cities (Harappa).  I can identify the significance of the Aryan migrations into India.  I can analyze the social structure of the caste system.  I can summarize the features of Brahmanism and Hinduism.  I can describe the life and teachings of the Buddha and the spread of Buddhism.  I can identify the growth of the Maurya Empire and the achievements of Asoka.  I can analyze the golden age of the Guptas, including developments in art and science.  I can summarize the religious legacy, including Hinduism and Buddhism, left to the world by ancient India.  I can describe the artistic legacy and the contributions of the ancient Indians to the field of mathematics.
