PLAYING RULES FOR 2014 1. It will be the responsibility of each team coach or manager to inform his players of all league and playing rules of the R.A.M.S.L.

2. All play of the R.A.M.S.L. will be governed by the Slo-Pitch National rule book, with the following exceptions: a. Minimum number of players to start & complete a game will be nine. Minimum of three women must start with the fourth as an auto out. You can have a maximum of two male batters in a row; you cannot have two female batters in a row. (Unless the opposing coach or manager waives this rule)

3. Footwear: Thongs or Flip Flops are not allowed at anytime.

4. Baseball cleats must fall into the rules of SPN.

5. SPN and RAMSL follow ASA certification standards. All bats must have ASA 2004 or ASA 2000 stamp or USSSA 2012 logo stamp on the bat handle.

6. Forfeit time for the game is 15 minutes past the Scheduled game time. If you forfeit a game your team will be assessed a $50.00 fine.

7. Home team will be the official scorer. The visiting team must verify the score after each half inning. Each team must keep proper records of scores and players in each game. You will have to surrender your scorebook for verification of player eligibility after the last league game.

8. If a batter is walked on the first four pitches, the walked batter will be given 2nd base, but the next batter, if it is a female, she will have the option to either hit or go to 1st base.

9. SUBSTITUTION RULE: Starting player can come out of the game and re-enter once. The original player must re-enter in the same batting order as he or she started the game.

10. No stealing, no lead-offs (a base runner may leave their base when a pitched ball is either batted or reaches home plate),

11. Home team will be responsible for supplying one (league supplied) NEW game ball and one provisional ball for each game. Each team will receive enough new game balls for each of their games and each team will receive a scorebook for the season. At the end of the regular season each team must hand in their scorebook with all the league games in it. If there are any games, which are under any kind of protest, and that game is not in the scorebook, that protest will be decided on by using the scorebook with that game in it.

12. All games will be played to nine innings or 1-½ hours (which ever comes first). In the case of a tie, additional innings will be played within the time limit or as light permits. Tie games will be reflected as tie games. There is no coin toss to determine a winner. 13. If one team is ahead by ten runs after seven innings, the game will be declared over (i.e.: 11 – 1 after the 7th inning is complete). Both teams may decide to finish the game. The official score of the game shall be the one at the end of the Seventh inning. If the score is 10 – 1 after 7 innings then the game will continue until the ninth inning.

14. There will be a maximum of 5 runs per inning.

15. The 8th and 9th innings or the “last inning as called by the umpire” shall be open innings (no run limits). If because of time limits or darkness the Umpire calls last inning it will be classified as an open inning. It does not mean that the last two innings of a game are open. Only 8 and 9 or the inning in which the umpire has called last inning. The Umpire must do this prior to the inning starting.

16. There is a minimum of five innings to complete a game (unless agreed by both managers or coaches to end it sooner)

17. ALL GAMES MUST BE PLAYED RAIN OR SHINE. Rainouts will be posted no later than 3:oo pm the day of the game at

18. If, for whatever reason your game will not be played, you MUST phone Crystal Walshe as soon as possible. NO GAMES CAN BE CANCELLED OR POSTPONED AFTER NOON ON THE DAY OF THE GAME.

19. Games may be rescheduled, for the following conditions are adhered to: a. The game is played any time prior to the scheduled date or within one week after. b. A member of the R.A.M.S.L. Executive has been advised prior to 12 noon the day before the scheduled game. c. The opposing team must agree to the schedule change. If they do not then the game will stand on that scheduled day. If you are unable to play on that day and you give the other team notice, you will be fined $50.00 for the forfeit.

20. Teams with only nine players must use the 10th spot as an automatic out.

21. It is the HOME team’s responsibility to email in their game score within 24 hours of the completion of the game. [email protected]

22. Ties in League standings will be broken by the following criteria: a. Best record between the two teams b. Most runs scored ( in games between the teams) c. Least runs against ( in games between the teams) d. Coin toss

23. At home plate we will use a Home Plate Line. Your entire foot must cross the line and touch the ground (not half of the foot) for you to be safe. No sliding or diving at home plate. If you slide or dive at home you will be out. If a player tags the runner prior to them crossing the line they are out. If a runner tags the regular home plate they will be classified as out. 24. THERE WILL NO MORE THAN 3 PITCHES BETWEEN INNINGS OR WHEN ANOTHER PITCHER RELIEVES ANOTHER

25. THERE IS NO COMMITMENT LINE AT HOME PLATE.

26. There is Bunting allowed in our league, but only a female may do so. There is a 50-foot line that the infield (1st base, short stop and 3rd base) must stay behind. Once the batter turns to show bunt then you may go in past the 50foot line. This will be a call made by the umpire

27. The Official Ball for 2014 is the WORTH Gray Dot core 40 (Lime Green)

28. IF the Umpire deems that a team is purposely throwing a game. That team will be charged with a forfeit and all applicable fines.

29. Players may play in either B or C division but not both. The only exception is C division ladies can be called up to spare in B division. B division players cannot spare in C whatsoever. This exception does not apply to playoffs. League Fines

Late Payment $10 per day 7. Trophies not returned (in good order on time) Replacement cost 8. Team Rosters not turned in by April 14, 2008 $50 9. Team Representative not present at A.G.M. $100 10. Team Rep not present at League Function $50

Unsportsmanlike conduct by a team or player or any fans will be reviewed by the R.A.M.S.L. Executive. Fighting means automatic expulsion from the league. (Fighting is as described by the Oxford Dictionary) If any player receives two ejections during the season, the R.A.M.S.L. Executive will have a disciplinary hearing regarding future play of the individual and team.

ANY TEAMS WITH OUTSTANDING FINES BY THELAST LEAGUE GAME, WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PLAYOFFS UNLESS ALL OPUTSTANDING FINES ARE PAID.
