OUTLAW MOTORSPORTS OF MINNESOTA 2008 – 2009 SEASON SEMI PRO TRUCKS RULES
1. All officials decisions are final (NO EXCEPTIONS AT ALL) 2. Any foreign or domestic ½ , ¾ ,or 1 ton full size regular or extended cab truck, also any full size suburban type vehicle are allowed. 3. If its not stated in rules DO NOT DO IT.(NO GRAY AREA BUILDING) 4. Motor, Tranny, Radiator (Radibarrels) of choice, must remain in stock location, and stock size. Motor may be chained or welded down in any fashion as long as you do not increase the strength to any part of body or frame. 5. Metal fuel tank 6 gallon max. Boat style or approved fuel cell. Absolutely no plastic tanks. Must be located behind driver in rear seat or in the center of box up tight against cab. Must be attached to vehicle with at least 2 metal straps and bolted down, you must also have a metal shield over tank (slash guard). No bungies or any kind of rubber. 6. Tires of choice any ply. Exceptions are: split rims, no dualies, or Ag. Type treads. You may boot, foam, or insert tires if you wish. No concrete. 7. Distributor protectors are allowed but can not be attached to any part of frame rails in any fashion. Connect to motor, body, or dash bar is OK. 8. Trucks must have bumpers front and back, any OEM non Ag style bumpers. Flat iron in back only. Bumpers skins may be welded solid, ends must remain open. Brackets may be welded to bumper then to frame you may add 1 piece of steel 8”x 4”x1/4” per frame rail to assist in securing bumpers, front and back. You may use up to 4 straps per bumper welded from bumper to body to hold it on 4”x8”x1/4” size. 9. ALL plates, straps or any added steel shall be no thicker than ¼” inch and you must leave an area of ½ inch long unwelded for thickness inspection. 10. MANDITORY drivers’ door bar on outside of vehicle it may be 6” past the front and back of drivers’ door only. Use minimum of 4’ wide by ¼ thick plating if you use I beam type material you must radius or angle the ends of bar. 11. Dash bar inside door bars (drivers and passenger side) and behind driver bar must be minimum of 2x2 or 2”dia, up to 4” any pattern but can not be attached to frame in any way. Halo or roll bar is MANDITORY this may be inside or up against cab on outside directly behind driver this may go to frame. You may put kickers from halo down to box no further back than 2feet from back of cab, from halo to dash bar, kickers cannot be attached to frame, must be welded or bolted to box floor 4”dia or square max on halo and kickers. 12. Truck must have a single or double loop under truck to help stop drive shaft in case it breaks, this is for the safety all persons in or around track area. 13. Cab bolts; you must have a minimum of 4 bolts from frame securing cab down maximum of 8 bolts up to 1”. Box bolts you must have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 16 holding box to frame up to 1”. All bolt can be attached to frame and have up to a 6” dia washer top and bottom, but bolt and washers must remain standing separately ( no long plates with numerous holes) to be used as a single washer for all the bolts. You may pipe bolts between top and bottom of frame.
14. Cab and box may be welded together using4” wide by ¼ thick plates. Doors, tailgate, cab to box and any exterior welds may stitch or full welds. No interior seam welding except for bars and boxes. Use 2” wide filler max for doors. 15. Maximum of 2 full size batteries, contained in a box securely fastened to floor inside cab. Tranny coolers are allowed and must be in a box securely fastened to floor inside cab no bungies use bolts and metal straps. Batteries must have a rubber cover over entire battery. 16. All electrical and fuel lines must come through firewall area with a large hole cut in and must be separate from each other and insulated where they come through any opening. No lines are to come over dash except for extra hand throttle. 17. Front and rear suspension may be made solid you may reinforce tie rod ends and make a-arms solid. You may add SMALL pieces of steel to accomplish this, but use your head do not get carried away or I WILL make you cut it. 18. 4x4 vehicles must drop the front drive shaft; all trucks will compete with only 2 drive wheels. Rear ends may be welded or made posi. You may use rear end of choice as long as it came factory on a 1 ton or smaller truck. 19. Spring clamp 6 per side may be used. You may releaf or add up to a TOTAL of 11 springs in a staggered pattern, YOU MAY ONLY HAVE 11 PER SIDE PER AXLE. 20. Hood pins 1” dia max 6 totals with 6” dia washer all may go to frame, through or welded to frame. Washers are to be separate from each other, no long plates joining bolts together. 21. Core support may have a 2x2 piece of angle on top from fender to fender. Kickers may extend from top of core support to just in front of a-arms you may use a 3x3x1/4 plate welded to frame to weld kicker on, material may be 2x2 or 2” dia. No other kickers any where on truck.1/4x2x 12 straps from core support to fender. 22. Electric fuel pumps must be marked red for recognition by emergency persons. 23. Headers are recommended; of you don’t cut a 12” dia hole in hood. 24. Fresh trucks are allowed 4 plates 4”x8”x1/4 thick and 4 pieces of 2x2x1/4x8” long angle iron to placed anywhere on frame, builders choice of location you must leave ½ inch area unwelded for thickness inspection. All plates and angle iron MUST have at least a 2” gap before the next piece of added steel, this also means side to side. NO double stacking of any added steel. This does not mean that you can cut 8” pieces into 4 two inch pieces and that adds up to 8. This means that if for whatever reason 1 plate is only 6in. long it will be counted as a 8” piece, these sizes are UPTO stated size. 25. Pre-run truck use same size dimensions and follow the 2” gap rule and stack, weld rule. Steel that is added on a pre-run must only be added to fix damaged or bent areas on frame and you must leave proof of damage.
