August 2007 – 2011 Royal Bank of Scotland – Telephone advisory service (TAS)

In my first role after graduating from university was as a customer advisor, where I have learnt a lot in respect of the financial industry, by looking at what the bank is able to offer and to associate such products and services to our large customer base.

In the course of my role, I was given several other managerial tasks and responsibilities as well, such as maintaining the team’s sales tracker, delivering communications to the rest of the team and other teams and providing sales coaching to colleagues and new starters. As well as maintaining high team morale throughout the course of the day.

My self-driven and enthusiastic approach helped me in my role, where targeted on sales, I achieved incredible bonuses, awards and prizes throughout my time there for my excellent performances. I feel my ability to relate and bond with customers has played a large part in this as well as providing outstanding customer service.

Highlights of my time here include being awarded, by the head of my department in the country for my performance and attitude at our annual road-show awards under the ‘recognising achievement’ category, for being the centres top performer. Then again in January 2010, I had the best performance in whole of Southern region.

Not only do I consistently over achieve in the income side of business, I was awarded the highest band, ‘Platinum Plus’ certificate for outstanding customer service from our customer service manager, which was suggested by my clients. A feat only achieved by a handful of advisors. A combination of my customer service and sales record, in Sept 2010, led to the head of insurance for Natwest asking me to feature in a group video to discuss and share my successes in this field.

All my hard work in my current role has led to sponsorship for my Certificates in Financial Planning (CF1,2,3,4), which was authorised by the head of my department and supported by my senior manager, which I passed comfortably.

Since passing my exams, I have been leading the way in gaining quality financial planning business for the bank, by identifying key areas which need exploring. Areas such as pensions, life cover and large investments. April 2011 – Present Countrywide Mortgage Services – Financial Advisor

Working for the biggest mortgage brokers firm in the country and winner of several financial services awards, Countrywide Mortgage Services as a financial advisor, was my next and present role.

My role requires my meeting with clients on a regular basis and finding appropriate mortgage deals for them in order to be able to purchase their property. This would require me meeting with business development managers (BDMs) for around 20 banks and building societies, in order to gain access for their products for my clients. In the course of doing this, I learnt banking operations extremely well, from start to finish, which helped me link clients to the criteria set by certain financial institutions.

On top of this, I was providing clients with a full financial review, to discuss their protection needs which resulted would result in me setting up, life Insurance, critical illness insurance, income protection, wills, redundancy cover etc, so I am an expert in the insurance industry also.

Another key aspect of this role is negotiating property sales and purchases for my clients. This is a key area of the role that I exceeded in. Working in affluent areas covering Chandlers Ford and Chilworth, I was negotiating sales for properties which were in excess of £1Million in value.

In addition to this, much like my previous role, I have been given several managerial responsibilities including collating figures and reporting to the senior directors of the company.

Again, as in my previous role, I have exceeding in smashing all my targets and deadlines. This success has led to me getting large bonus payments from my employer as well as regional recognition from the Managing Directors of the company.
