Sermon – Change Your World! Sunday, July 9th, 2006 Faith Temple – Sioux Falls, S.D.

Title - “Change Your World!”

Scripture: Various Scriptures from the Bible

Opening Story: A minister was completing a Temperance sermon. With great emphasis he said, “If I had all the beer in the world, I’d take it and pour it into the river.” With even greater emphasis he said, “And if I had all the wine in the world, I’d take it and pour it into the river.” And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he said, “And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I’d take it and pour it into the river.” Sermon complete, he sat down. The song leader stood very cautiously and announce with a smile, nearly laughing, “For our closing song, let us sing Hymn #365, ”Shall We Gather At The River.”

Introduction: 1. Write Down Some Of These Scriptures, They Will Be Life Changing! 2. It is of extreme importance to realize the urgency that people in this world must change! 3. For some time is short! 4. “Residents of Luverne, Minn., are mourning the death of one of their most gifted athletes. Chris Ashby, 16, was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision on Minnesota Highway 75, three miles south of Luverne. Chris was a quiet kid with a good sense of humor, said Luverne athletic director and football coach Todd Oye. He made the kids around him laugh, and he was a very talented athlete. His bright future was cut short Wednesday afternoon when Ashby’s 2006 Honda Civic was broadsided by a semi . According to a Minnesota State patrol accident report, both vehicles were headed south when Ashby did a U – turn on the highway and was struck by the semi.

Vs. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Vs. 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”

C. Matthew 19:26 – “Jesus looked at them and said, WITH MAN THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”

D. Start Believing for your unsaved loved ones!

#2 Change Your World – Change The Focus Of Your Faith!

A. Scripture: John 14:12 – “I tell you the truth, anyone who has FAITH IN ME will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. Vs. 13 – “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. Vs. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” B. Faith In Whom??? A Church? A Process? A Pastor? An Evangelist? A Christian Television Evangelist??? C. “FAITH IN ME!” Page 3

#3 Change Your World – “Remain In Me, Believe For A Miracle!”

A. Scripture: John 15:5-8 – “I am the vine; you are the branches. IF A MAN REAMINS IN ME AND I IN HIM, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. Vs. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. Vs. 7 IF YOU REMAIN IN ME AND MY WORDS REMINA IN YOU, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. vs. 8 this is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” B. MIRACLES! – Billy Graham said, - “Jonah swallowed by a fish? I’d believe it if Scripture said Jonah swallowed the fish? It’s not difficult to believe if you believe in a God of miracles!” C. #4 Change Your World – It’s You! You Can Do It!

A. Philippians 4:13 – I CAN DO EVERYTHING THROUGH HIM WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH.” (NIV) B. Luke 11:28 – “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” C. #5 Change Your World Through The Power Of The Holy Spirit!

A. Scripture: Samuel speaking to King Saul! I Samuel 10:6, 7, 9 – “The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you in power, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. Vs. 7 Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you. vs. 9 As Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed Saul’s heart, and all these signs were fulfilled that day. B. I Corinthians 12:`1 – “Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. C. Saturday’s paper – “CHARISMATIC RENEWAL FILLED WITH SPIRITUAL ZEAL!” - Question: Explain what Catholic Charismatic Renewal is and your involvement in it is. - Answer: Catholic Charismatic Renewal is not a movement; it’s more than a movement. It has no founder except God. - The BAPTISM of the Holy Spirit is what identifies us. We are a people who are in love with God, with his church. We have a zeal for proclaiming the truth of the Gospel message.”

d. Don’t Be Wimpy! Don’t Become Like A Noodle In Hot Water! e. Don’t Compromise On Who The Holy Spirit Is! f. Tap into the Power Of The Holy Spirit And Use His Gifts !

Conclusion:
