1. Executive Director’s Reflection There is probably no more universally embraced text of comfort than yesterday’s responsorial Psalm 23, the Lord is my shepherd. At how many bedsides, in how many homes, by how many caskets, with how many families have you and I prayed this psalm! As much as those five words and the many statements about how God will be with us in all life’s moments are comforting, it is the four words of faith and trust that follow those first five that for me are the more compelling and challenging, “I shall not want.” What if those four words were my mantra? 2. Recognizing 25 years with NACC and 25 years board certified! At our National Conference this year and subsequent years we will be recognizing our members who have been board certified for 25, as well as those who have been NACC members for 25 years. 3. May-June 2011 Vision issue now available on the NACC website Look on the NACC website for the most recent May-June 2011 issue of Vision! It’s packed with articles and information on professional certification. Visit it soon!

4. NACC 2010 Annual Report now available on the NACC website Yearly, the NACC makes available to its membership an Annual Report as a means of public accountability. The 2010 Annual Report is now available on the NACC website for all to view and download. We are grateful to all who continue to lead NACC, volunteer their time and talents to ensure the governance of NACC is in good hands, proper stewardship is maintained, and the mission of the NACC is advanced.

5. Thank you for your responses to the annual member campaign letter! Your generous responses to our annual member campaign keep coming in. Thank you! We are deeply grateful for our members’ support to this campaign. Please consider renewing your giving or giving for the first time!

6. Have you moved recently and not told us? When you have moved personal residences or places of employment, or have a new email address or telephone number, please don’t forget to contact Mary Pawicz ([email protected]), our membership support staff person at the NACC office, to let her know! We don’t want you to miss our communications to you!

9. 2011 National Conference this coming week! It is finally here! May in Milwaukee! We welcome the 450 participants to Milwaukee! We ask prayers for the good of the conference, and we will remember in a special way all those who will not be able to join us this year. CHAPLAINCY NEWS, EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL SUPPORTS

11. Please participate in the 2011 SCC Salary Survey sponsored by NACC and APC! If you have not yet completed the 2011 SCC Salary Survey, please do so today. The NACC and APC are again partnering to conduct this survey. Your participation is a significant aid to our profession. We ask that the survey be completed only by certified chaplains or CPE supervisor members who were employed full time in 2010 (as defined by one’s employer) or CPE supervisor members who completed contract work during 2010. Please respond to all questions that apply to you. The online web host for the assessment survey is Zoomerang.com. To access the online tool, click on or enter the web link: www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22C54JPZ7MH/ into your web browser’s address line and you will be routed directly to the online survey. The survey will begin with an introduction and overview of how to use the online survey tool. Follow the simple prompts to complete the survey. The deadline for completing this survey is May 27, 2011.

12. Reflective Practice: Formation and Supervision in Ministry Joins the Digital Age The Editorial Board of Reflective Practice is pleased to announce that beginning with Volume 31, Reflective Practice has been published electronically at http://journals.sfu.ca/rpfs/ to fulfill its mission as a global resource in formation and supervision for the next generation of religious leaders around the globe, Reflective Practice is now an OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL FREE to anyone anywhere in the world with internet access. No registration is necessary. Simply go to http://journals.sfu.ca/rpfs.You will find Volumes 29 and 30 are already online in the archives. Volume 31 will be available online by May, 2011. Printed copies of Volume 31 and past or future printed volumes of Reflective Practice may be ordered through the website www.reflective-practice.org. 13. Register today for the NACC June Audio Conference! NACC Audio Conference, Using Selected Psalms for Spiritual Support and Pastoral Presence, presented by Rabbi David Zucker, Ph.D., BCC, is being offered Thursdays, June 23 and June 30, 2011, 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Central Time (GMT-6). 18. Are you planning to give any presentations on chaplaincy? We continue to encourage members to promote the chaplaincy profession. Please remember that the NACC office staff wants to make sure you have resources to use and share. 21. Recent death of our NACC member We just learned late last week of the death of Sr. Micheletta McGee, RSM, who had passed away on April 17, 2011. Certified in 1996, Sr. Micheletta was a very active member of NACC, and helped organize the 2002 National Symposium in Philadelphia, PA. She had been battling pancreatic cancer.
