Pine-Richland High School Girls’ Soccer Participation Code of Conduct Contract

Because players, parents, coaches and administrators play a critical role in personal development through sports, they are required to follow the code of ethics mandated by the Pine-Richland Girls’ Soccer Boosters and Coaching Staff. This code of conduct has been developed to maximize the benefits of sports involvement and to help guide the athlete in becoming a well-rounded, self-confident, and productive person. Clearly defining the roles of each participant, establishing a code of conduct, and communicating these expectations to all parties are important to prevent potential problems.

Players Code of Conduct  Abide by all team rules . . . learn them, perform them, and live by them  Give 100% all the time  Be a team player, don’t bully or place blame on teammates or coaches  Arrive on time for practices and games  Always display good sportsmanship both on and off the field  Be supportive of the entire team  Respect all coaches and teammates

Parents and Spectators Code of Conduct  Support the student’s desire to play their chosen sport  Encourage players to obey all rules and lead by example  Be respectful of all players, coaches, officials, opponents, and other parents  Demeaning, disrespectful behavior or comments at games, practice, and meetings will not be tolerated and may result in the parent being dismissed from the game and the student dismissed from the team after review by the Athletic Director, Coach, Booster Board Member and Principal.  Display good sportsmanship at all times  Be supportive of the entire team  Players, locker rooms, and practice and game fields are off-limits to parents  Refrain from coaching “over the shoulder” of the coach and/or publicly questioning the coach’s decisions

Appropriate topics for parents to discuss with a coach  Verbal and physical treatment of your child  Child’s behavior and motivation to excel in school  Safety or medical concerns related to your child  Volunteering for fundraising efforts or team events  Team policies and practices  Parents should follow the proper chain of command when voicing a concern. This procedure begins with the coach, followed by the school athletic director, and finally if the concern has not been resolved, the principal.  If a parent would like to meet with the coaching staff please email Coach Chmielewski at [email protected] and they will set up a meeting.

Inappropriate topics for parents to discuss with a coach or players on the team  Playing time  Position assignment  Team strategy or play calling  Other team members I agree to abide by the policies set forth in this contract. I understand that if I do not adhere to this code of conduct, I may be removed from the team or asked to leave the event and may not be permitted to return for the remainder of the season.
