March 12, 2013

Dear Chet Phillips and Claudia Davila,

The University of Arizona Green Fund Committee is please to inform you that “Compost Cats: Building a Soil Fertility Hub for Southern Arizona,” Item # GF14.41P has been awarded funding from the Green Fund in the amount of $54,700 allocated over a period of one year. The amount you requested in your original proposal was $70,500 allocated over a period of 1 year. This amount differs from the amount requested in the project proposal. Specifically, the Green Fund struck from the budget grad assistants, grad assistants ERE, fuel, office supplies, operating supplies/safety equipment, and educational/printing supplies. The original project description first provided in your proposal was based on full funding. The total funding amount has been slightly adjusted to account for anticipated ERE rate changes for FY14. It stands to reason that if the amount awarded is reduced, the same project terms and expected outcomes may not necessarily apply. At this time, the Green Fund is requesting you provide revised terms of your project and revised project outcomes due to reduced funding. Attached is a form you can utilize to document your answers.

Also attached is the Green Fund Letter of Agreement. Please print it out, attain signatures, and return an original signed copy to the UA Office of Sustainability located at 500 N. Highland Ave in Likings Hall. The building is located on the Northeast corner of Highland and 6th Street (access on 6th street). Funds will be dispersed after the signed letter of agreement is received and the Project Manager attends a Green Fund information meeting. Details regarding this meeting will be available shortly

Lastly, attached is a copy of your project spreadsheet outlining budget changes. Please use this spreadsheet as a template for future budget reporting.

You will also receive notice via Green Fund automatic notification that these files have been uploaded to the public Green Fund Website. If you have any questions, please contact Julia Rudnick at [email protected].

The Green Fund Committee extends its best wishes for the success of your program.

Sincerely,

The University of Arizona Green Fund Committee
