Letter of Intent

My name is Sana Ghalib, an IMG from India. I intend to apply to IM Residency training programs in the Match for 2016 and I am keen on exploring an opportunity to observe at UPMC for a period of 3 months, preferably starting May, 2015 upto July 2015. The IM Residency Program at UPMC is widely acclaimed and is one my top choices to pursue my training. I feel that there is no better way to gain exposure to the hospital as well as healthcare in general, in the US, than a Visitor Program. As USCE is a must to obtain familiarity with the US healthcare system and also to gain valuable experience for ACGME applications, I would like to shadow a medical team to understand the nature and workings of healthcare delivery in addition to the wide scope of learning opportunity it provides. I am an MBBS graduate from Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh and I have passed USMLE Steps 1 (Score 250) and 2 CK (Score 267). I am currently employed as a Resident Doctor (ICU) at Holy Family Hospital, New Delhi and hence, shall be able to financially support myself while observing at UPMC. I also hold a valid B1/B2 visa and I shall be travelling alone. I assure you a completely professional behaviour and a commitment to uphold patient privacy, confidentiality and safety.
