Nom ______Classe______Les pays francophones

You and a small group of students will teach a class on a francophone country. Information to include is:

 The name of your Country (French and English)

 Geographical facts

o Where is it?

o What important cities are in it?

o What regions/countries border it?

o What geographical features does it include?

o What is the climate/weather like?

 Administrative facts:

o What is the country’s flag?

o What are some interesting features related to economy, industries and/or agriculture of the country? How do the people of this region earn a living?

o What has its role been in history?

o Are there any other languages besides French widely spoken there?

 Sites and Monuments:

o What interesting places might a tourist want to visit?

o What interesting cities and towns are there to visit?

o What might tourists do? (i.e. What types of activities are popular? What is available to do besides visit sites and monuments? What do people of this country like to do in their free time?)

 Food:

o What are some characteristics of the food of this country? o Is there a special type of bread, cheese, pastry or other dish that is particular to this region, or to a city in this region?

**This probably sounds like a lot of information…Use these questions to guide you in your research. You do not necessarily need to give a complete, detailed in-depth answer to every single question. We are more interested in getting an idea of what your region is about since each one has its own culture.

Your lesson will be broken up into three parts:

 Presentation of information with a visual aid (PowerPoint)

 Design an activity/game for your classmates to do related to your region, or more specifically that illustrates or reinforces points made in your presentation.

 Make and bring in a dish local to your country to share with your classmates. You must include a recipe. (Students may have allergies and so need to know what to avoid. They may also want to make it at home because it’s so delicious!)

Your presentation should last a minimum of 20 minutes. You MUST also hand in a summary paper that includes the information in your presentation. This must be written in complete sentences.
