Competitive pulling isn’t just watched it’s experienced! Sight! Sound! Action! Diesel fuel, and the giddy expectation of an anxious crowd... this spectacle feeds an addiction. Any tractor pull may be called the ultimate contest between the proverbial immovable object and the irresistible force, but at Quambatook Easter Saturday 15th April, driven by competitive spirit and brute force, horsepower is king when the tractor is hooked. As competitors take off the rev limiters, scream the RPM’s and push their equipment to the very edge it won’t take long for the event to ‘gain traction’. The excitement commences at 1.30pm and concludes under lights approximately 10.00pm. The pulling program will commence with the vintage tractors. The 2WD & 4WD farm tractors will also compete for the championship during the day. The return of the ‘Quamby Quaker’ in 2016 was a huge highlight and will prove such again when it hits the track this Easter Saturday. The highly modified pulling machines will be competing non-stop on two tracks. The spectacular Smoker class with ‘Wicked Whitetail & ‘Wolverine Deere 2’ strutting their stuff is sure to get the crowd to their feet. ‘Disorderly Conduct’ & ‘Scrap Value’ will compete in their relevant classes and are always out to put on a show. The various other exciting classes sporting all manner of power supplies, include ‘Bizzee B’ in the Modified Truck powered by 454ci. Chev. ‘Soul Revival’ is always out to take on ‘Flat Stick’ & ‘Full Throttle’ with a fight to the finish. The Open mini class is not to be missed with ‘Iron Nuts’ sporting a Donavan 540ci. blown plant going head to head with ‘Blown Income’ which draws power from a 540ci. TFZ Hemi. In the Mini class ‘Jaws’ will take on the might of ‘Rival’ and ‘Barney’s Animal’, there is always fierce rivalry between the ‘Fords & Chevs’. This is only a small part of the great program being offered as we come to expect the great battles in all modified classes, they just seem to get better and better every year. An evening tea break approximately 6.30pm allows spectators a chance to ‘share the passion’ of these mighty machines with the teams. Activities will continue with Easter Bunny making a trackside appearance throwing out chocolate eggs for our young enthusiasts. Also you can take advantage of the many food and refreshment stalls, along with the side show entertainment for all ages. The junior contingent will show their skills trackside during the day competing in the ‘Modified Lawn Mower’ class where the 10-16 year olds get the chance to learn the aspects of Tractor Pulling. Other features of the day are a country market, carnival rides for the kids. The trucking industry will be on show with a huge display of prime movers. For those interested in the history of farming down through the decades, you will be able to meander down memory lane with the extensive display of ‘heritage machinery’ on display.
